when a musician loves his piano by Kerry L. Marsala
·
When passions give way to emotions the fulfillment of dreams blossom forth producing a rare and beautiful melody. A melody brought to full fruition by the talented concert pianist William-Joseph.
As a child, William Joseph (an Arizona native) began his path towards what has now culminated into musical grandeur forming the highest peaks of bliss. At the age of eight William-Joseph, a talented prodigy was taught, disciplined, and nurtured by Russian musician, teacher, and friend Stella Saperstein. Ms. Saperstein has much to be proud of, her dream student has gone from organ player for the Phoenix Coyotes Hockey team to the grandest of achievements bestowed or desired by all great musicians, the status of musical genius. William-Joseph is now a legend in the making and the world of music has welcomed him into their arms as one who is truly elegant, and has attained the ardent status of those masters of music who have gone on before him.
In a rare appearance at a intimate location, William-Joseph treated family, friends, and guests to an intimate evening of piano fantasy and the Liberace status of majestic entertainment. Flavored well with his own trademark of style, passion, and grace William played for the captivated audience his moving magical songs that he has written himself, and/or with David Foster. On his debut CD, William has recreated a few well known hit songs too, (classic rock artist- Led Zeppelin Kashmir, 80’s rock band- Kansas Dust in the Wind and Butterflies and Hurricanes by indie-rockers Muse) all leaving his audience breathless and desiring his way of defining emotion. His passion driven music leaves his audience filled and satisfied but still needing and desiring to hear more. His style is hauntingly beautiful and stirs something deep within the soul.
William Joseph just recently finished his world tour with talented singer Josh Groban. With William-Josephs debut CD, Within released on Reprise Records, success has only begun to take this master concert pianist on the voyage of unforgettable beauty. An inexplicable beauty that can only be experienced, as you become a part of his world through the striking of the ivory keys.
William Joseph a man created to fulfill humanities desire to hear and feel the passionate desires of what art truly epitomizes… and that is what William-Joseph delivers. He stands as a giant within the realm of the great lovers of astounding abilities to write, compose, perform and to those who just appreciate what emotional power can do for the soul. MCR's My Sweet Revenge
K L Marsala
My Chemical Romance a love story of a boy, a girl, and love in a cemetery or is it only about “Sweet Revenge?” The Chemical Romance CD Sweet Cheers for Sweet Romance takes the musical adventure to the heights of death and mausoleums. This is some of the best music- flavored romantically with death- that has dared come up from the local waves beyond the graveyard.
Opening with the track,
The song The Jet Set Life is Gonna Kill You, and the Thank You for the Venom presents the band in its entirety playing as one. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge is the unequivocal grave marker for MCR’s abilities to ride along in the hearse of gothic rock.
Hang ‘Em High (with additional vocals by Keith Morris) leaves you with the vision of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly just met up with five blokes just leaving a party for the deceased. A six-gun shotgun song spun for the sinners.
Even though MTV and the radio waves have highlighted I am Not Okay (I Promise) and
You will want to hear and see more of My Chemical Romance and the photographs your boyfriend took just wont seem to matter anymore… because you know… you are okay- I promise.

Harkness- Ciao to the Beauty CD Review
By K L Marsala 2005
Too often when musicians enter the fray of artistic talent the mad libbed music aficionados what to label the endowed and draw their savant telling comparisons to great musicians of long ago. Comparing at times apples to dried rotted fruit and other times labeling a band before they have ever had a chance to claim a lot of musical land for themselves.
Those of us who hunger to have our ears satisfied and musical bop-pity fulfilled can bow to the originality of Steve Marrs (Harkness guitarist/vocalist) the gifted musician of magical musical art. Harkness’s original spin comes from
Harkness consists of: Steve Marrs - lead vox, bass
+ gtr; Lucian rhythm, gtr ; Haywood - vox, keys, percussion; Pell - lead gtr; Beardsley trombone; Jasper trumpet; Egon - drums
Spinning the tunes from the Harkness CD “Ciao to the Beauty” will leave you wanting to hear more and become a participant in the art of Harkness. As you take, the leap of faith into the zone of complete Harkness chances are you will be donning your own robe, hood and nuclear shield visors. Those who venture into the order of Harkness will soon be slipping on their own form of what appears to look like the nuclear babes dress code from the movie- The Planet of the Apes.
Lyrical lilts of various instruments permeate throughout Harkness’s CD entitled “Ciao to the Beauty.” Beauty is yours to behold as you listen to the hurt that moans on the track Don’t Say Good-bye. The tune Kisses We Invent spins the flavor of SKA meets Bond James Bond 007, you will feel like you ought to be shaken-not stirred. Harkness finally delivers the true meaning of unconditional love loving us to death and telling us to live each moment as it were our last dance- because Steve Marrs of Harkness believes that with his music we all will always be Free with Me.

THE KILLERS- HOT FUSS
Who knew what a 120-degree garage out of
Each Killer track lives up to their name. The diversity includes tales of murderers and stalkers. The Killer's flavored the CD further with taunts of jealousy, paranoia, androgynous girlfriends, and cuckolded boyfriends.
Lead singer Brandon Flowers has many fans suggesting a mirror image of childlike innocence that the lead vocalist of The Cure (Robert Smith) posesses as well. Leaving girls desiring his childlike innocence and feeding guys with the idea of... if I could just look like
The Killers influences are from a plethora of venues: Bowie, Ocasek, Gallagher, Presley, Smith, Sumner, Corgan, Cocker, Byrne, Lennon- to name just a few.
Certainly a Debut CD that must be in any music collector's addition.
Believe Me Natalie you won't Change Your Mind. Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine and Somebody Told Me that if you believe like Mr. Brightside and Smile Like You Mean It, Everything Will Be Alright at the Midnight Show. Just look at All These Things I've Done now Andy You're A Star and The Killer's will always come out On Top.

U2's- How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb
K L Marsala
Over the years U2 has spun some of the most prolific ideals of religion, faith, spirituality, peace and activism. From their first album “Boy” released in October of 1980, under Island Record label, this pop group has dared to talk what they walk.
Whether you agree with the activist stand points of Bono and U2’s band members- one cannot deny that unlike many of their peers in the industry they live and play what they believe in.
U2’s latest effort- How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb is filled with the same desires to find peace for all humanity. Lying deep in so many of their tracks are references to their own religious beliefs and U2’s desire for world peace.
Opening with “Vertigo”, a song receiving top ratings on radio play lists, Bono sings of the girl with “crimson nails has Jesus round her neck” Then in “Miracle Drug” Bono wants to see our “thoughts take shape” and expresses his view of freedoms scent wafting gently to our nostrils as the flavor of “the top of a newborn baby’s head.” By track four U2 is preaching to us that, “the troops on the ground are about to dig in.” Then they ask us, “ And I wonder where is the love?” All very philosophical lyrically, but who listens to the words I wonder?
It isn’t until track five, “City of Blinding Lights,” that you can even pick up a hint of The Edge’s trademark guitar. A promising song for air play and if handled correctly could make an excellent music video.
The deep thoughts that take place within many of the tracks may only be understood by those who have seen the documentary called, “What in the Bleep do We Know?”
“One Step Closer and Original of the Species” lead us to wondering if we are, “one step closer to knowing” and should we feel “like no-one before.” (?)
Lastly, Bono asks “Yahweh” to “take this soul and make it sing.” Great lessons in how to obtain peace within ourselves and amongst our fellow man can be found within “Yahweh.” Trouble is how many of us can stop our mouths long enough to end criticism and unclench our hands from the fists of fury we carry?
Filled with eleven tracks that leave die hard U2 fans contemplating their lives and hoping for a tour stop in their own hometown.
Whether you agree with the organizations such as: amnesty usa.org or greenpeace.org or burmacampaign.org etc...U2 as a group of musicians don’t just come out against certain ideals they disagree with during election years. As you go back and read their lyrics over the many years of spinning discography you know where they stand and you can appreciate their love and diligence for consistency. Something lacking terribly amongst most of today’s entertainers.
U2/How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb - great music, one of 2004’s best CD offerings.
