What Ever Happened to Towels, Pans, and Dishes?
Kerry L Marsala- www.therant.us; www.opeds.com
Every culture has its way of celebrating life's events. The various ways we show our customs during, before and after wedding ceremonies is as diversified and colorful as a rainbow. The Italians have a custom of breaking a wine glass, the Greeks love to smash dishes on the floor for good luck, the Japanese have a custom of drinking nine glasses of sake and some in the Middle East have a propensity for shooting their pistolas up in the air.
Now, I am sorry-I've witnessed this odd behavior I cannot tell you how many times. I still do not get shooting guns up in the air for weddings, beheadings, bombings, birthday's etc... but I am always amazed over this phenomenon of celebration. For one, what goes up-must come down. Two, we are in a middle of a war and if you go shooting up at an aircraft or jeeps driving by, chances are the little guys in the little planes and autos are going to think you're shooting at them.
Now, its being reported that our military shot at a wedding party that was celebrating somewhere between 2 am to 3 am in the morning along the border of Syria and Jordan. According to Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt the attack was launched about 15 miles from the Syrian border after U.S. forces received "specific intelligence" about foreign fighters slipping into the country. "We sent a ground force in to the location," Kimmitt told Associated Press Television News. "They were shot at. We returned fire"(www.apnews.myway.com).
We know there are those of you who prefer to believe the Iraqis and Arabs over our military, because they are always honest about such atrocities. But when was the last time you attended a wedding, any wedding and brought gifts of satellite communications gear, foreign passports, weapons and a large amount of Iraqi cash totaling around two million dinars? I know every time I go to a wedding I always give the bride and groom a foreign passport, a satellite communicator, weapons, and enough cash to get around for their honeymoon. Don't you?
Let's see this one play out in the mass media. I am sure perky little Katie Couric and other media darlings will air this event over and over and over again; NOT! If only these media elitists gave the same credence to the beheading of Nick Berg there now wouldn't that be different? Only WMD's being found, and Americans dying get shoved into the archives of 'Top Secret-Truth File', as fast as breeding rabbits.
The Full Exposure of the WMD's
K L Marsala
Until recently they've been buried under facades of patriotism and wrapped in the American flag. The "WMD's" have performed various roles, some have played the supportive position to presidential candidates, and others starred as concerned state representatives and caring attorney generals. The "WMD's" have been on a constant driven quest to destroy all we hold dear here in America and finally they've been exposed. Will we awaken and grasp who these "WMD's" are?
Intelligence gathers have been slowly building their case against these "Women of Mass Destruction" it has taken awhile, but they wanted to make sure all angles of possible escape from what they represent were fully established. The ultimate missile that finalized the case for these "WMD's" was Theresa Heinz Kerry. Her quick temper and the inability to keep her mouth shut-- has her spiteful lips exposing her mass destructive behaviors rapidly. Statements such as, "Shove it," launched at a reporter and "Four more years of hell," blasted like poison gas at Bush supporters who showed up at a Kerry rally, reveals she's running for a socialistic partnership with her husband.
All along Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Janet Reno and other far-left political women were known to be a threat to freedom, but now we can add unequivocally to this list---Tyrant 'testa' Theresa Heinz Kerry. Ms. Heinz Kerry is doing a great job in finishing the exposure of these radical socialistic women. I don't know if she and her husband, John Kerry, discussed her co-presidency-- but it would appear they have or John Kerry is whipped and his wife runs the ship.
(Would that explain why John Kerry felt the need to recreate "I'm King of the World" scenario from the Titanic the other night while on a ferry crossing Lake Michigan? John buddy--you're on a ship that sinks)
With over 57 Heinz company varieties to choose from and major outsourcing of American jobs she's affiliated with-- Ms. Heinz Kerry and her financial attachments to the Heinz company, has the money to be one of the most dangerous members of the "WMD" club. Ms. Heinz-Kerry between 1995-2001 gave more than million to an organization called the Tides Foundation.
The Tides Foundation supports numerous antiwar groups, including Ramsey Clark's International Action Center. Clark was acknowledged to have offered to defend Saddam Hussein when he's tried. They support the Democratic Justice Fund, a joint venture of the Tides Foundation and billionaire George Soros (moveon.org). The Democratic Justice Fund seeks to ease restrictions on Muslim immigration from "terrorist" states. They support the Council for American-Islamic Relations, whose leaders are known to have pronounced ties to the terrorist group, Hamas. One of their attorneys, Lynne Stewart, has been arrested for helping a client, Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, converse with terror cells in Egypt. He's the convicted mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Their support of the "Barrio Warriors" (a radical Hispanic group) whose primary goal is to return all of Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas to Mexico. As you can see any WMD with mucho dinero can be a great threat to our Republic.
We need to educate ourselves and see the real Teresa Heinz Kerry and her comrades of WMD's. If we'll truly open our eyes and ears we'll not agree with their positions as ultra rich bombshells of the radical left.
Isn't it odd how many of the wealthy lean left? Ever wonder why? Why are they for socialized health care and pro-Planned Parenthood? Why are they for big government and against tax cuts?
John Kerry has chosen his "Evita" but we don't desire a co-presidency in our country. America wants to know what the candidates running believe, think, and plan. We aren't interested in your spouse's ideals or overly dramatic speeches, unless they end up being the ones who are holding the "chain" of command and you are just the face out front we see. John Kerry-- America still doesn't know who or what you are--except you served in Vietnam, but America has seen one thing clearly, your wife is a "WMD" and we've reason to be fearful of those who believe like her.
Candidates if your spouse isn't the one running for office-- strap their mouths shut and quit letting your "loose cannons" fire at will. Theresa is not a co-candidate, just as Hillary wasn't throughout the Bill Clinton years. Our system was designed to have a president and vice president-- running for office is clearly understandable. America doesn't have a husband/wife---president/co-president option and thank goodness we don't.
The "Women of Mass Destruction" are here espousing, lobbying, and dropping their ideals of destroying America and her freedoms, these women are dangerous and desire a socialistic America. The "WMD's" we know are amongst us, they've been found-- time is quickly ticking by-- how will we dismantle the war heads and cut their red wires, before the detention and annihilation of our Republic occurs?
Rock -n- Roll, Beer, Morons and Voting
K L Marsala
"If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal."-- Alice Cooper (Talon News 8/26/04)
Recently I've been observing various programs polling the citizens of the United States on their voting knowledge. Frankly I'm concerned over the lack of knowledge these programs are divulging about American voters. There's miniscule understanding of our voting process, little familiarity of the nominee's platforms, and some don't know or care who their candidates are.
For the last 20 years we've been living through the biggest slice of American apathy for our political process. Many are staunch in their beliefs of-- "anyone but Bush," but if you ask them why-- their answer is "because." I didn't realize "because" was an explanation for your likes or dislikes. As I've listened to the reporters trying to engage people and their reasoning some will add, "because Bush attacked Iraq." When prodded further about their knowledge as to why we went to war with Iraq most of those answering couldn't give explanation. A large percentage of those questioned about their anti-Bush sentiments had succumbed to the entertainment's industries --grand guru of all knowing pile called-- extreme biased opinions. If Dave Matthews says President Bush is wrong and we need to tour to "Vote for Change," well then it must be true. (Don't get me wrong I love the Dave Matthew's Band and he has donated monies to some worthy causes, but to base your vote on what one group believes?) Have we bought into "Mr. Born in the USA's"- Bruce Springsteen- belief that President Bush needs to be ousted?
When did politics and rock get into bed with one another? Sid Vicious screamed- "anarchy"- and here we've got millionaire musicians/entertainers being caught in a political tango with the Democrats. For the love of all that is pure honest and for those about to rock--keep rock-n-roll where it belongs--making out in the back of your dads car and blaring annoyingly in your bedroom so you can irritate your parents.
Sure, entertainers understand our pain, they've lived life's struggles, they can relate to the common everyday person--they sing about "loosing my religion," they know social injustices. I am sure you've heard the phrase, "tortured artist?" Yes, many of them can write and play well and they're master's at bringing the masses together for one night of ecstatic release from the daily humdrum of working at the factory. But does the ability to spin great tunes equal political savant?
(I'd love to understand the psyche behind entertainers feeling the need to press their lips to any mic available so they can blast their denunciation of conservatism. Notable entertainers are extravagantly rich, and live lavishly-- yet too often they are bitter towards their homeland--America--who gave them the ability to succeed.)
C'mon guys--entertainers are rich because poor slobs like us buy their CD's, DVD's and such-- because misery loves company. They're so far removed from day to day life, as they sit in their Malibu mansion and drive the latest Jaguar. Is being an entertainer the qualifier to knowing more about politics? They sure must know more than the steel worker whose driving his ten year old Chevy and living in a 1300 sq. ft. home in suburbia. Most entertainers don't have a clue about you or I (let alone politics), but they do know how to capitalize upon social ideologies and we buy into them on a regular basis.
I know some of you reading this out there are getting steamed because you feel like I'm attacking your "news sources," but I'm not. I don't believe any person can be completely informed by only obtaining their views from listening, reading or watching a few sources. --I even wonder if anyone can be completely informed, since every manner of media is spun to a certain extent-- but we all have the ability to compare sources and search for truth.
We still live in a country where we're allowed all points of view and we can debate our beliefs, but how much longer will those freedoms exist? How long will we be allowed to delve into issues facing our nation, if we continue to apathetically let only certain sources tabulate and form our opinions? We must become informed, study our history, and understand the issues. We must know who our political candidates are and where they stand. Pushing a chad, or connecting the lines because a country or rock band said to-- proves-- we've become too stupid to vote. We're not mandated to vote, we're not prevented from voting-- we're free to vote--FREE--do we understand this?
To keep our freedoms we must become participants, this requires more than attending the "Rock the Vote Tour." Participating with a Bud in one hand and a lighter held up with the other, shouting "Rock On Dude," at a concert doesn't make us a participant, it makes us sycophantic lemmings. When we don't really give a flip about our process-- we've truly lost our freedoms. Maybe we've lulled ourselves into thinking there's no government institution coming along and taking our six packs of beer. We're allowed to sleep in past noon after Friday night's kegger bash-- so why not coast?
Coast time is over, it's time to wipe away the sleep from our eyes and stop worrying about the next music gig we can attend. Our very existence as a Republic requires each and every citizen of the United States of America to become informed and involved.
Voting isn't about-- "it's got a good beat and you can dance to it." Voting "American Bandstand" style will have us loosing our freedoms within the next ten years, if we aren't willing to take the time to protect our own rights. The spin needs to stop here, vote based on knowledge, and not the entertainment industry's skewed myopic view of our great country. We have enough morons lying, whining and pretending to be "heroes", so let's not add more inept blowhards to it.

Is Socialized Medicine Really the Answer?
K L Marsala- Independent Newspapers; www.opeds.com
Six months ago, my year-old granddaughter was rushed to the ER at a local hospital, she was extremely ill.
A typical night began in a jammed ER, filled with varying degrees of human illnesses all vying for their chance to be seen.
Not far down the road there are several elderly care-homes. The elderly patients waiting to be seen made up 60% of those needing attention. Wheelchairs lined up in a row, steel IV poles decorated with bags and tubing, tired elderly people waiting, some crying, 'Can I just go home?'
One patient in particular, who had metal rods in his back, had been waiting nine hours in his wheelchair; he was a Vietnam Vet. It was just a few hours ago; a waiting patient told me, that the Vet out of boredom or mind screamed outside the doorway, that this overcrowding at the ER was due to the 'illegal aliens'. I think we were all surprised no one punched him. Perhaps everyone had just grown accustomed to ER clients loosing it.
Some of the other guests were intoxicated, had colds, stomach bugs, broken ribs, gall bladder attacks, strep- throats, and maybe just no where else to go. The room was filled with anxiousness, diseases, and worn out people.
In my observations and listening to those checking into the ER ward, most were ACCHS recipients. All I could think to myself was, 'Is this how socialized medicine really works?' I shuddered in my thoughts.
The check-in nurse, who analyzes your status as you walk in, should be nominated for sainthood. If there wasn't a person she was checking in, she was patiently answering: 'Why did so and so get to go in before me?' 'I've been here thirteen hours now and my cough is worse than his broken arm'. With great decorum she would answer each question
Due to my granddaughters' age along with a high temperature, swelling, and rash, she only had to wait 30 minutes to be taken behind the ER doors of admittance.
At 11PM the ER doctors had drawn, tested, spinal tapped what they could, but found nothing. At 1 PM my granddaughter was taken from this ER ward, to another Pediatric Intensive Care Unit across the valley. With the flash of a red light and a blaring siren she was whisked away to another hospital that could meet her desperate needs.
As we left the ER to follow the ambulance, I looked back and saw faces of people who desperately needed care and a staff overwhelmed with those demanding needs.
The aforementioned Vet hollers at us as we exit the door, 'Go to the Memorial Hospital, they can take care of you much quicker!' I wave, and tell him thank you for his concern. But I wondered later, is he still there? Wheeling himself about waiting to be seen? Needing guidance from his social worker?
How did we get lost in this system?
Upon arrival at the next hospital, it is well staffed, ER patients are being cared for at a methodical rate, the patients arriving have their own insurance cards or cash. Such a difference a 25-minute drive can make.
My mind quickly leaves the thought of those suffering under the Governmental Insurance Program to my granddaughter, she is on ACCHS. Her mom is a single parent and her daughter has to utilize a system that gives poor care. My granddaughter had been sick for months, her mother had tried to get help, there was little given.
The attending doctor at this ER tells us if her daughter had been left untreated a few hours more; it could have meant the difference between life and death.
We trust our system to take thought for those who cannot care for themselves. I've never liked a socialistic run health care system and this proved our system is tied up in bureaucratic red tape. No one appears to give a darn about the elderly, the young, our Vets, and the caregivers that are put into preposterously demanding situations.
It's past time for an overhaul, yesterday would have been preferred, but as one more patient dies under this system, their yesterday was already too late!
Feliz de Rememberza
K L. Marsala-
''I don't think it's realistic for us [the Democratic Party] to have a Southern strategy. We should concentrate on either a Western strategy -- a Western/Hispanic strategy -- which is basically Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and Florida, or we should try to pick off one or two states in the Midwest. Those have to be the two options to win the presidency."
Gov. Bill Richardson (D-NM) New York Times May 9, 2004
"You listen to these kids say the Pledge of Allegiance in two languages, and I said every kid in America ought to be talking in two languages, there's no question about it."
U.S. Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) Las Cruces Sun News May 5, 2004
Happy Memorial Day! Or should I say, Feliz Dia de la Remembranza? As we approach the celebration and reflection of this country's past heroes how is it that we can have a governor and a candidate running for presidential office of the United States espousing such idiocies?
Last I checked as a resident of the desert Southwest, we were not part of the country Mexico, but of the United States. Yes, the Hispanic population is prolific in the western portion of the US, their influence of culture, foods, and way of life permeates the very cacti and tumbleweed blowing through each and every community. I can state unequivocally that I love Mexican food, I love Chicano Art (that's Mexican art for those of you east of the Rockies), and I love a big fiesta and most assuredly a daily siesta. But I am a citizen of America, and I speak English when I recite with pride and tears in my eyes, the United States of Americas Pledge of Allegiance. This is who I pledge my allegiance to, America-not Mexico. To honor my country by speaking my pledge in a foreign tongue is a slap in the face to our Lady of Liberty.
As the Democrats continue to play politics and try to look like they are all things to all people, they leave most of America and her people out of their equation. So plainly do they play the harlot to most of the world, and now they try and act like they are the best friends of the Hispanic population. I suppose they are going to try and convince all the Hispanic people that the Democrats are their saviors and only hope for their communities. Just like the lies they've been feeding the African American community for too many years. You have been an oppressed people, so give us your money and we will set you up on a permanent government teat, so you can suck the United States dry and feel like your being well taken care of. All without consequence.
These elitists (Democrats and some Republicans) are even playing up to those who are here illegally, all to get another vote. Its all politics and how many races of people fall for it? Too many I am afraid, seems most only care about the 'what's in it for me' factor. As long as I get my free health care card, free government subsidized home and free food sign me up because I don't have enough pride in my own culture or race to take a stand and say enough is enough! I can take care of my own, show me how to fish, so I can feed my family tomorrow, the next day and leave my offspring a nice little nest egg.
I wonder as Memorial Day approaches what the Civil War soldiers and General John A. Logan of the Grand Army of the Republic would say about how we honor our deceased soldiers. By the late 1800's many communities across this great country of ours, began to observe and celebrate Memorial Day. After World War I these observances began to honor all those who have died in service to America. Congress in 1971 declared Memorial Day a national holiday to be celebrated the last Monday in May.
Present day time, we have lost so many dedicated soldiers overseas protecting our world from danger. Where Kerry and Richardson are on this Memorial Day, who knows? Probably off learning to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States in Spanish, German, French, or Iraqi.
Strange, I cannot find anywhere in the history of our country where our forefathers promoted honoring our country and her service people in any other language other than English. The American people all have been given equal opportunity to be free, prosper and make something of themselves if they so desire. Politicians need to stop playing politics and start standing for America and her pledge-spoken in only one language-English.
I wish all those who've died and their families who grieve, an English speaking thank you. Thank you for giving me the greatest gift of all, my freedoms. I bid you a Happy Memorial Day.
It's All About the Crayon's
Kerry L Marsala
For many children here in America back to school has already happened or will soon. The lazy days of summer bliss are quickly being replaced with shopping excursions to buy new boxes of brightly colored crayons, number two pencils, notebooks, folders, backpacks (with your favorite summer movie character emblazoned upon it), lunch boxes, new socks and underwear and most importantly trendy clothing. With a swipe of our plastic credit cards, America's children are once again ready to begin their task of learning the "3R's."
The educator's, whether public or private, have been given classrooms equipped with both air conditioning and heat, and they have aligned their student's desks and chairs to face them. Most teachers' classrooms and school grounds are well equipped. They have their own computers, filing cabinets, blackboards or whiteboards, supplies from the district, drinking fountains/sinks, cabinet space, textbooks, a teacher's lounge that includes a microwave/stove and vending machines for sodas/snacks. They've been blessed with an organized administration, a supportive principal and dedicated parents/volunteers to help. With purpose, our government encourages and protects the rights of American teachers to do what they do best--- teach.
In our daily routine as American's, we don't always give thought to other situations that are occurring in the world. We believe if we don't have everything set up just the way we feel we deserve; that our freedoms are being threatened, and we then place blame on our government. Our school systems and our government are not perfect, but did you ever stop to think how wonderful it must be to open and smell a new box of brightly colored sticks of wax for the first time? Some of Iraq's school children are receiving boxes of crayons, paper, glue sticks, folders and brave teachers who desire to educate the people of the new Iraq---for the very first time!
Their former leader, Saddam Hussein, had seen to it that no one received an education that was well rounded. The people of Iraq, under the former regime, had been educated--- educated in hate, as have many of the countries under tyrannical rule. Education for children was teaching: How to Strap On a Suicide Bomb (101). The next session taught was how to walk into the town square and kill the most people. This course came under the heading of: How to Receive Free Money for Your Family (102). Education of children was teaching them the way to properly behead a captive while proclaiming the name "Allah" as they ruthlessly slice their way through blood and screams of their victim. For centuries children who have lived under the horror of a dictator have been taught hatred.
If anyone wants to rule a country with a fist of fury all a person or group has to do is to begin filling our children's daily educational needs with social ideologies. Teach them about factions, injustices, inequality, and the evils of morality. Make sure to plant the seeds of jealousy because someone excelled. Make sure instead to have them all learn within the same framework. Don't encourage those who desire to push ahead, squash those who excel and incite the average child to feel envy. When teaching leaves behind its raison de tre (reason for being) and begins its dissent into social based education, we in America embark on our downfall of creating an environment that is heading towards a country run by tyranny.
In Iraq, those who are still operating under the old educational system of hate, fear, and destruction assassinated the head of the Teachers Institute. These terrorist murderers don't want anyone working under the freedom to learn. They have been indoctrinated to believe that the knowledge gained by learning about the world around them is evil.
Prior to the take over of the country by former dictator, Saddam Hussein, Iraq was traditionally the intellectual center of the Arab world. The society of Iraq introduced the concept of zero into mathematics. At one time Iraqis were described as having an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, and were known for having the highest rate of Ph.D. holders in the world. Great strides were made in the technical and medical fields to fight against disease and women's rights were being established as nowhere else in the Arab world. This all crumbled when Hussein seized power in the late 1970's (Karl Zinsmeister author of: Boots on the Ground). Tyrants like Adolf Hitler, Yasser Arafat, Ferdinand Marcos, Fidel Castro, Benito Mussolini, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein have always used the evil dart of hatred to bring their own people under their diabolical control. Divide the people, stir up strife, innate fear, pretend you're offering a solution and you have the makings of a dictatorship run by horror. Surprisingly enough this can all be done while sitting in today's comfortable, well-equipped classrooms if we are not careful.
Today, before the divisiveness of being fed intravenously by groups who push socialistic and communistic doctrines into the fabric of freedom from tyranny, fear, and hatred, let us give pause as we send our children back to school to learn math, reading, writing, and history. As parents, make sure you know your child's curriculum. Volunteer to sit on a board at school, work in your child's classroom. Be aware of what your children's minds are being fed and if need be do something to change it for the better.
As teachers let us give pause when we open our classrooms to eagerly awaiting children and young adults and let the enormous sense of gratitude come to mind that we don't have a faction who is trying to assassinate us for educating. As teachers let's examine the textbooks we're given to make sure they are correct. Let's utilize the resources we've been blessed with and develop them properly--- enriching our pupils minds into great ideas and thoughts.
As administrators let us not get bogged down into the mental cage of, "We're running a corporation here" and remember the element of our educational system is our children, not the dollar amount. We know it takes money to run schools, but maybe we've been adding one too many 'extra-curricular' activities from the divisive agenda pushers to our schools line up of teaching the "3R's."
As we move forward together as a nation who believes in "the pushing up of people, not the pulling down of the masses" may all be reminded of the symbolism in opening that fresh box of crayons. America's independence as a nation under God needs to remember we're never more than a generation away from loosing all we hold so dear. If we continue to be divisive, stir up strife, envy, wrath, and hatred America will no longer be the land of the free.
Americas Media Has Blood on Their Hands
Kerry L. Marsala- www.therant.us; www.opeds.com
As Daniel Pearls head was severed from his body, our national media delivered the horrifying message and showed a wife expecting her beloved husband's child, grieving. We were as a nation moved with outrage towards the murderous villains, but we also felt the pain and grief of a woman who lost her husband. Daniel Pearl had given his life for his profession.
Along comes the feeding frenzy of the elitist media sharks encircling around Abu Ghraib. Swimming viciously around the photos, our media paraded the display of overtures to the global public. Nodding, prodding, sharp razor edged teeth sought to destroy in a pool of blood the military of the United States and Britain. With their bloodthirsty eagerness to destroy and render our militaries asunder, by repeatedly showing what possibly a dozen soldiers out 140,000 American service people did. The blood stained ground screams out for justice to be served against the shark-infested cesspools of those who relentlessly stood with the murderers, all in the name of good reporting.
Berg, so it was shouted through the terrorists, was murdered in revenge for Abu Ghraib. In a recent popular newsmagazine the photos of abuse were displayed on a four-page layout, within the content of the article you could find a possible 1/8" size blip about Berg. Is the blood spilled from the severed head of Berg on your hands as well media?
Johnson, has been murdered now. They screamed in rage that it is he that must be martyred for the cause of Abu Ghraib. How did these terrorists become so enraged over a small insignificant bunch of photos? How indeed, mainstream media, and you know who you are. Justice needs to be served, these murderous terrorists need to be annihilated. But tell me those of you who pounded, hounded, and feed the world the disgraceful depiction of what you're calling American Journalism, when will your justice for you deeds be served?
This is an outrage! Our media that feeds the enemy has become nothing more than a political player for their own opinions and agendas. It is time that our media, who are seemingly acting as if they are in line with nothing more than terrorists, are called onto the carpet and stand condemned for contributing to war crimes, murders and the atrocities being committed by these terrorists. I hope those of you who appeared to contribute to these murders of innocent people will rethink your responsibilities to humanity. Think long and hard, whose side are you on anyway-the terrorist or those trying to do what is right?
Don't feed us the lie that you're just doing your job reporting, you revel in stirring the pot of evil, you feed the sharks of frenzy, you deliver our Daniel's into the mouths of the lions den. Along with the terrorists, and those who hate America, you too are partly accountable for Berg and Johnson.

When you sign up today with the P J Club (pajama club) you'll get full rights to espouse your ideals, opinions and investigations via the World Wide Web. The P J Club is open to all that love the free flow of information and value what our founding fathers valued and that is- freedom of speech.
The P J Club isn't pretentious. We don't require silk pajamas, cotton ones are just fine. Your Pj's don’t have to have your initials embroidered upon them, unless of course you can't remember your name, then by all means. We don't require a Harvard Law Degree or a journalistic pedigree. You don’t have to have a full head of hair, suit, or a tie squeezing ever so slightly at your throat to give your eyes a strained studious bugged look. You know what, you don’t even have to wear pajamas to belong. That’s right- if you desire to sit butt naked and type your dissertation of exposes on your home computer that is okay with us- we just ask that you leave your video camera in the off position.
It would seem bloggers, ezine journalist, and editorialist via the net are causing a wave of elitist fit throwers to spin their large craniums of, how dare anyone else have an opinion who hasn’t attended the school of stuck up journalism, into a bit of a quagmire. The pajama writers are becoming known to be a troublesome bunch. Is it possible that they are all from a "far-right wing" group? These pajama wearing people who like to "think" of themselves as journalist are probably nothing more than white Anglo-Saxon protestant's who have several loaded shot guns in their homes and in their Chevy 4x4's. They all are probably card-carrying members of the NRA too. They certainly didn't receive an education beyond the sixth grade and are so bassackwards in anything cultural, social or political that they are the next big danger to this country and her freedoms since the end of the Cold War. Why I bet these pj wearers probably even type their investigations and editorials on a computer from the early 1980's and it still has the Atari version of centipede downloaded on it.
Now personally as a card-carrying member of the P J Club, and most others like me, subscribe to several newspapers worldwide. I have become a political, social and cultural junky. Most of the time the news leans so far to one side and is so convoluted with worthless fodder that this is what it becomes in my household I have several birds hence I need cage bottom covers. Though I do believe Jefferson prophetically saw the use of the newspapers and their biases long before the revolution of the P J Club came into existence. Thomas Jefferson stated, "Newspapers...serve as chimnies to carry off noxious vapors and smoke." Can anything be said more succinctly?
The pomposity of news anchors on TV (Dan Rather, Walter Cronkite, Katie Couric, and for a brief moment of hallucinating grandeur Bill O'Reilly) has really begun to crumble for what these demagogue's think of themselves as they love to look down upon the little people. How dare we as the common people rise up and let our voices be heard! Funny thing is when this elitist group became so wrapped in themselves they forgot what Laura Ingraham termed, "They forgot who brought them to the dance." Truer words have not been spoken quite so symphonically. When you forget who brought you to where you are now and you decide you've outgrown your "dance partner" more often than not your date with destiny will leave you alone, all by yourself, because your got to big for your journalistic britches. Ask these pompous journalists how it feels to be all by yourself in your own little world of "perfect me." These elitist still have their club, most are connected with the Hollywood elite's, but what happens when a group of snobs gets together? Think back to your high school days. Remember the upper class snobs? They'd all be buddy, buddy when you were in their world, but the moment you stepped out and went to go grab a coke you became the conversation of gossip. Back stabbers is what spins the world of elitist snobs and their world is blood letting itself quicker than imagined.
Those who belong to the P J Club don’t pretend to have all the answers. We can't and we never will. So who is it that makes up the P J Club? Well, many of us have master's degrees in a wide range of subjects. Most of us hold down regular jobs and drive a compact car. Many of us have families and are happily married. Some of us don't even own a gun. There are those of us who are Christian, agnostic, atheists, Muslim, Buddhist and a gamut of other followings too numerous to name. We are an open minded group of people though who love the exchange of ideas, the free flow of opinions and the ability to cut through the murky waters of media biases that plague the information highways. There will be times those of us in the P J Club will be wrong, but when we are wrong it will not crush us and cause us to run, hide and lie our way out. When a member of the P J Club places themselves above the common man and becomes a legend in their own mind- then they have withdrawn their own membership and have created their own little world of elitist snobbery.
Yes, perhaps the elite's of the journalistic world should be worried that their little world of -our club only- is disintegrating around them quickly. The P J Club is here to stay, our cause is larger than we are and you cannot muzzle a human from speaking and writing what they believe to be true. The union of elitist journalism is dead, the P J Club is here to break the bonds of tyranny the elitist journalist have tried to ink blot this world into believing. Our pens, typewriters, and computer keyboards have become the tools needed to expose the biased skewed print of the media.
Sign on today, the P J Club is open to all that love free speech and the freedom to exchange ideas, investigate, and espouse truths.
Did CBS and Rather Get Typeface Font all Over Their Disingenuous Faces?
K Marsala
Why what took place over thirty years ago has become the battleground for John Kerry and his campaign camp seems rather null and void to me. But Kerry has insisted he must bloviate at any given moment that he served (four months) in Vietnam. One would think if you ask a former president, Bill Clinton who won two terms, for advice and the advice given was to stop stumping on "I served in Vietnam" you would quit. Not John F. Kerry though, he just continues to ooze from his purple hearts. Hence, since this is the platform Kerry has decided to run his platoon or "Swift boat" by, we now have what appears to be forged documents surfacing against our current president, bubbling up from the depths of liberal murky waters called- lies, lies, and more lies. Supposedly these credible documents bring forth questions over President Bush's service to his country, some thirty years ago. These documents are to be held quite suspiciously particularly when the typeface used didn't exist back then. CBS, Rather and Kerry campaigner's, it would seem collectively all of you are adrift, possibly even lost, on a Swift boat somewhere in Cambodia perhaps? It would appear John Kerry that your very inept captain is Dan Rather and CBS- quick Kerry jump ship!
CBS and Mr. Rather need a good butt whippin for trying to break a lead story without establishing clearly the authenticity of the allegations made. Recently I was talking with Jack Yan, a resident of New Zealand, (publisher of Lucire Magazine, and a co-author of a book called Beyond Branding) about these questionable documents over our president's military service- thirty years ago. Mr. Yan is known to be a leading font developer in the Southern Hemisphere and his earlier typeface designs are sold here in the United States. Mr. Yan shared with me his knowledge over the integrity of the typeface design profession with no political bias or opinion for either candidate.
Dan Rather, of CBS, claims in his defense of the documents that the Times Roman typeface has been around since 1931. That is true, but the specific cut of the typeface used in the letters is post 1985. According to Mr. Yan, "Every time a font is recut for a different machine, experts are able to tell. Each laser printer, each digital file, has subtle differences." But, Dan Rather being the professional journalist he is certainly must know more about typeface than all the leading font developers and computer script geeks in the world do.
Mr. Yan went on to state, "Specifically, the typeface in the letters appears to be Times Roman, as licensed by Linotype of Germany, after 1985. It is not Times New Roman as Mr. Rather claims (as 'New Times Roman' [sic]), which is different again-- that is very evident from the PDFs. (Hence in a lawsuit I worked on in 2001, the typeface was designed in 1954 but could only possibly have come off a Hewlett Packard LaserJet III post 1993). Despite reproduction, the proportions and sizes of the letters relative to each other remain the same and are identifiable to any true typographic expert." Now, I bet you won't hear this full explanation on CBS's 60 Minutes I, II, or any other number they want to throw out.
Can CBS find a typewriter hiding somewhere in a barn outside New York City that might be able to produce this exact typeface that Mr. Rather claims was bestowed upon these typewritten documents? Quite possibly they could, but the only typewriter that could of come close to resembling a Times typeface was an IBM Selectric and those letters don't have the Times cut Mr. Rather is defending. To further the point of the ease of telling forgery typed documents Mr. Yan stated, "Even to a layperson, the Selectric Golfball settings would seem looser (i.e. the type is not so close together)."
Still Mr. Rather claims that other documents from the White House have superscript. "Superscript letters," Mr. Yan shared, "on old typewriters were either (a) in the same size but raised or (b) were separate, selected letters in a cut that made them visually the same weight. The 60 Minutes documents have superscript letters that could only have been proportionally and mathematically reduced on a computer."
Finally according to Mr. Yan the defenders of these documents make "very fundamental errors, they can be argued against by any first-year design student studying typography. They also seem to be skewing the issue away from the typeface, which the one matter that effortlessly categorizes CBS documents as counterfeit."
Didn't the Kerry camp demand of President Bush to unequivocally denounce the 527 Swift boat ads? Why is it when the Swift boat Vets book was released multiple news organizations and ranting bobbled headed media puppets cried, "that's not fair" and demanded the Bush administration to "denounce" the ads? Wasn't there even a call for investigating the ties between the Bush campaign and the Swift boat Vets? Don't the Swift boat Vets have free speech rights and the right to divulge what they deem the truth? Where is the media's cry for justice and full investigation into these forged documents? Where indeed is a call for journalistic honesty Dan Rather and CBS? Answer the American people CBS, Dan Rather, and the other Democrats sailing on the sea of lies. The double standards being played out by so many here is appalling. What happened to the news story over Sandy Berger being caught with files conveniently stuffed down his pants and tucked in his socks? The same thing that will happen with these forged documents- it will all be conveniently drowned and never fully exposed for what it is- lies. You know something? That all really stinks- badly. The media and their hyenas, so innocent and saintly, hushing up when we need to tell the truth.
Dan Rather and CBS these typos are on your face. You can't wipe away the facts or the ink. The imprint of truth has already become permanent. It's time to read the transcripts of the liberal media clearly, and expose their biases of, "anyone but Bush." The American people are tired of hearing what happened back then. We want to know what the candidates running are going to do today and tomorrow and we can't find out if forged documents are going to be the toy boat the liberals want to play with.
