What Happens in Bali Tonight

S. Jameson

Often during this war on terror, we have questioned the validity behind our fight. Our confusion over this war against terrorism, has been formed by the press and their deluge of photographs, terror alerts, clips and opinions, thusly creating a misunderstanding by in large the world over. Sound bites can be misleading, and repetitiveness becomes mundane.  The 24/7/365 media has created a news style that lacks substance We have been led to question the United States involvement, and to suppose that our interests lie solely in oil.  Overall, the world’s impression of our current administration seems to be- Imperialistic gun-slinging cowboys riding off into the sunset of YEEHAW Americana.

The war on terror is a battle against an ideal of hatred that has infiltrated multiple levels. We have terrorist operatives in every village, city, state, country, and continent.. They have mastered the finest strategic plan of permeation to annihilate their enemies.   Terrorists have been living and growing their brand of hatred stealthily whilst co-existing amongst our population. Stealthily these pestilent stone age throwbacks have bred their hatred within the walls of our governments, businesses, educational institutions, religious organizations, and our society.

The monitoring of active and inactive terrorist groups reveals terrorist organizations are wide, diverse and their existence varies moment by moment. The Center for Defense Information in 2000 had counted over fifty as active by the U.S. State Dept. in 2002 under the Patriot Act nine more groups were added. According to Wikipedia, there are over 200 listed groups and organizations, ranging from religious, nationalistic, left wing, right wing, racists,  and to those who fall under the “other” category. The United States Committee for a Free Lebanon lists terrorist and insurgencies worldwide to be well over 400 and a large section of that list has terrorist organizations imbedded in Iraq.

This war on terror has affected more than the land of the free. Denouncing our reasons for taking the war to where the terrorist’s train and plan needs to change- we must realize it is affecting all of us- globally. We must educate ourselves, not only for our continued existence, but also for humankind’s survival.

I have a friend who travels with her husband to Indonesia a couple of times a year for business and pleasure; they own and operate an import business here in the United States. Their establishment is full of artisan wares made by local families residing in Jakarta and Bali. During the six years they have been traveling, they have become close to their sellers. They have fallen love with Indonesia and now refer to her as their second home, but my friend confides in me that she will no longer travel alone due to the terrorists.

Prior to the last bombing in Bali (Oct 2005), I had asked her how things were looking for their next buying trip to Bali. She told me things have been slowly deteriorating since the 2002 bombing in Bali and when the second bombing at the Marriot Hotel in Jakarta happened in 2003, it about obliterated the hopes and dreams of the friendly people of both Bali and Jakarta.

She said the artisans they had been buying from have had to quit making their wondrous works of art to sell and go to the fields to plant, and glean rice so that they can make a meager meal for themselves. Terrorism has killed the tourist industry, which was the mainstay for the peoples of Bali and Jakarta.

This is our enemies’ drive, to take away everyone’s freedom and to force all into a frightened state of barbaric tyrannical rule.

Global terrorism is here- there is no escaping it, we are all interconnected in some form. What affects the economic and social structure in Indonesia, Sudan, or Spain, tonight- will certainly have an immediate impact on the United States and the world tomorrow.

The radicals who scream, “Die infidel” have already landed on our shores, it is now up to us to educate ourselves and understand our enemy. This war on terror will either be our victory that we monitor and control or it will be our blood bath of hell here on earth. We can choose which one we want- we still hold our destiny in our hands. Let us consider, and act before our enemy slices through with their blood soaked machetes and ends our love of freedom to worship, work, speak, dream, and live.

John Kerry Thrower of Ashes and Render of Clothes

K L Marsala

Kerry and his Democrat wailer's are nothing but a bunch of crybabies. Kerry has been quoted saying more than once, "Bring it on," so when it gets brought on what does Kerry and his attack dogs do? They start whining, instead of pushing back with facts to refute "The Swiftboat Veterans." Kerry cries, to a firefighters' union conference in Boston, "The president keeps telling people he would never question my service to our country. Instead, he watches as a Republican-funded attack group does just that," Waaaaaaaaaaaa!

On August 19th Kerry wailed, whilst throwing ashes and rending his clothes, the president has his front groups "do his dirty work" in questioning his military service during the Vietnam War. It would seem to Kerry and the wailers, that the Swiftboat guys and their book "Unfit for Command" has been too much of a touch of truth. Better still, Kerry has former President Bill Clinton (who purged himself and was disbarred while in office) piously preaching to a congregation in Riverside, "Sometimes I think our friends on the other side have become the people of the Nine Commandments. It is wrong to bear false witness" (NY Times 8/30/04). Yes, Bill and John it is.

Big deal the ads are funded heavily by Republican supporters, the ads are still independent from the Bush campaign. Big deal the gentleman who wrote the book had it released around the time of John Kerry's rah, rah convention--hasn't Kerry wrapped himself up in a war that took place some thirty years ago anyway? 'My name is John Kerry and I served in Vietnam' has been his mantra, so why shouldn't John O' Neill and other Veterans be pissed off that Kerry came back after his four month stint and three purple hearts to begin lambasting his fellow patriots with Fondaistic bra burning diatribe? O' Neill has had a bone of contention (Houston Chronicle article reported that in 1971 Richard Nixon and top aide Charles W. Colson turned to O'Neill to discredit Kerry, the veteran turned leader of the leader of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War.) running since Kerry came back and unloaded his own guilty conscience on the American public for war atrocities he was part of.

O' Neill hasn't a thing to do with President Bush- O' Neill previous votes were for Perot and Gore. If the only connection the Kerry wailers can make is that Republicans contributed monies to the ad campaign of the Swiftboat Veterans, so what! If the one big 527 ad campaign running against Kerry and his claim to 'why you should vote for me (Vietnam, purple hearts, bronze star, peace lover)' is what causes liberals to cry, NOT FAIR, then y'all need to wipe your snotty noses and use Visine to get the red out of your tearful eyeballs. Tantrum time is over you big babies. If O'Neill and the other Vets who served within the same group of swiftboats aren't telling the truth, cry baby Johnny, then disprove them, and stop whining about President Bush needing to denounce the ads. Bush has never questioned your service of four months and your three purple hearts- your compadres you stabbed in the back and caused much undo grief to when they returned home over thirty years ago did and still do! Answer them, instead of finger pointing.

Not once have we heard President Bush or his administration whine over the Moveon.org ads (all sponsored with monies from the Democrats- George Soros). Yes, the conservatives stated they didn't like Bush being compared to Hitler, but whine about it? They did not, they stood their ground and said prove it. When has the Conservative Party cried about all the nasty things said by the far-left from Hollywood? Whoopi, Moore, Franken, and other rich socialists can refer to Bush as a part of the female anatomy, or call him a liar, or support those who continually lambaste and rant over our Presidents intentions. It's okay for the liberals to spend their monies on 527 ads, to attack as sharks in a feeding frenzy, to participate in the bloodletting and witch hunt of those who believe in our President and his direction. But don't you dare step outside what a liberal believes, the liberals will shout, 'off with their heads', 'cut out their tongues' and then strangle our rights to believe and espouse in conservative ideals. Does the Freedom of Speech only apply to liberal's lips?

The majority of liberals are nothing but whining hypocrites. If you can't take the heat and answer without crying-- then get out of the kitchen. The American people have had enough of your double tongued, two faced radical tantrums. It's time to either prove what really occurred during those four short months of service to our country thirty years ago or just shut up. We don't want to listen to your sniveling anymore, this election isn't about what happened during Nam, three purple hearts or John Kerry's bashing of our service men and women-- it's about America now, terrorism now, and our economy now 'stupid.' Get it? Got it? Good, now move on!

John Kerry A Master Guru of Political Kama Sutra

K. L Marsala

As Election Day draws nigh, the multiple positions John Kerry has offered have seemingly become so multiple that all who are drawn to this master of multiplicity should all be reaching ecstasy. This master of multiple faceted positions can spew forth his political jargon whether he is standing, sitting, or espousing from the rear. The dynamic master of political Karma Sutra can relate to all views and positions. John F. Kerry has taken all sides of every position so we all can feel good about getting screwed- if he is elected.
Are you for President Bush’s attack on one of the axis’s of evil- Iraq? No problem, Kerry is too- Kerry voted for authorization to use force in Iraq. (H.J. Res. 114, CQ Vote #237: Passed 77-23: R 48-1; D 29-21; I 0-1, 10/11/02, Kerry Voted Yea.) In the first Dem debate, Kerry strongly supported the president’s action in Iraq. KERRY: “George, I said at the time I would have preferred if we had given diplomacy a greater opportunity, but I think it was the right decision to disarm Saddam Hussein, and when the President made the decision, I supported him, and I support the fact that we did disarm him.” (ABC News, Democrat Presidential Candidate Debate, Columbia, SC, 5/4/03)
Not sure if our multi-coalition of force to take out Saddam was a part of our war on terror? No worries, Kerry’s claim now states his vote was just to be used as a threatening tool. Kerry later claimed he voted “to threaten” use of force in Iraq. “I voted to threaten the use of force to make Saddam Hussein comply with the resolutions of the United Nations.” (Sen. John Kerry, Remarks At Announcement Of Presidential Candidacy, Mount Pleasant, SC, 9/2/03) Threats always work against evil tyrants, just like empty promises.

For those of you who are completely anti-war, no problem John F. Kerry has you covered as well. Now, Kerry says he is one of the anti-war candidates. CHRIS MATTHEWS: “Do you think you belong to that category of candidates who more or less are unhappy with this war, the way it’s been fought, along with General Clark, along with Howard Dean and not necessarily in companionship politically on the issue of the war with people like Lieberman, Edwards and Gephardt? Are you one of the anti-war candidates?” KERRY: “I am -- Yes, in the sense that I don’t believe the president took us to war as he should have, yes, absolutely.” (MSNBC’s “Hardball,” 1/6/04) Nothing like Kerry making up his mind, is there?
For the kool-aid drinking Kerry/Edwards voters Kerry has taken care of those who believe that this war on terror will soon be nothing more than just a nuisance, like prostitution. That covered the apathetic voter. But for those of you who believed Kerry when he said it was “predominantly intelligence gathering,” this is what you master political guru of multiple positions had to say- “Kerry was asked about Bush’s weekend appearance on ‘Meet the Press’ when he called himself a ‘war president.’ The senator, who watched the session, remarked: ‘The war on terrorism is a very different war from the way the president is trying to sell it to us. It’s a serious challenge, and it is a war of sorts, but it is not the kind of war they’re trying to market to America.’ Kerry characterized the war on terror as predominantly an intelligence-gathering and law enforcement operation. ‘It’s basically a manhunt,’ he said. ‘You gotta know who they are, where they are, what they’re planning, and you gotta be able to go get ‘em before they get us.” (Katherine M. Skiba, “Bush, Kerry Turn Focus To Each Other,” Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 2/13/04) Ya, lets go get'em John- Go ahead and make our day, after all you are the real ‘war president.’
For those of you who are Kerry’s political temple prostitutes he took care of your feelings over the war on terror too. The war on terror quickly became more than just intelligence gathering. It was only two weeks later, Kerry invented a new position and said the war on terror is more than “a manhunt”. “This war isn’t just a … a checklist of names from a deck of cards. In it, we do not face just one man or one terrorist group. We face a global jihadist movement of many groups, from different sources, with separate agendas, but all committed to assaulting the United States and free and open societies around the globe.” (Sen. John Kerry, Remarks At University Of California At Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, 2/27/04) Imagine President Bush, his administration and the global coalition forces were right- our way of life is facing a movement of evil that threatens free and open societies globally.

Is your motto, “Whatever number of dollars it takes to fund our troops?” Guess what???? So is John Kerry’s! Just relax- your multiple political Karma Sutra leaders believe it is critical to utilize whatever number of billions to win, they understand it is critical to the United States success in Iraq. Kerry pledges to fund reconstruction with “whatever number” of dollars it takes. NBC’S TIM RUSSERT: “Do you believe that we should reduce funding that we are now providing for the operation in Iraq?” SEN. JOHN KERRY: “No. I think we should increase it.” RUSSERT: “Increase funding?” KERRY: “Yes.” RUSSERT: “By how much?” KERRY: “By whatever number of billions of dollars it takes to win. It is critical that the United States of America be successful in Iraq, Tim.” (NBC’s “Meet The Press,” 8/31/03)

As well, for those of you on the opposing side of rear entry, Kerry has your view in mind too. Kerry took care of voting “nay” against the Senate passage of Iraq/Afghanistan reconstruction package. “Passage of the bill that would appropriate .5 billion in fiscal 2004 supplemental spending for military operations and reconstruction in Iraq and Afghanistan. The bill would provide .3 billion as a grant to rebuild Iraq, including .1 billion for security and .2 billion for reconstruction costs. It also would provide billion as a loan that would be converted to a grant if 90 percent of all bilateral debt incurred by the former Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein has been forgiven by other countries. Separate provisions limit reconstruction aid to .4 billion. It also would provide approximately .6 billion for military operations and maintenance and $1.3 billion for veterans medical care.” (S. 1689, CQ Vote #400: Passed 87-12: R 50-0; D 37-11; I 0-1, 10/17/03, Kerry Voted Nay) Was it, I voted for it before I voted against it? Or was it I voted against before I voted for it or was I in Hollywood that day receiving botox injections and spending time at the Beverly Hills tanning salon?
As you can see every political position on this war on terror is covered by John F. Kerry. His mastery of being everything to all voters should have us all feeling climatically satisfied and fulfilled. What more could we ask for? We’ve demanded all our positions and views be established, recognized and addressed- Kerry has completed this very well.

A part of our war on terror has been the Patriot Act. John F. Kerry has this one covered too. Pro- Patriot Act? So is John Kerry, Kerry voted for the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act was passed nearly unanimously by the Senate 98-1, and 357-66 in the House. (H.R. 3162, CQ Vote #313: Passed 98-1: R 49-0; D 48-1; I 1-0, 10/25/01, Kerry Voted Yea) John Kerry even used to defend his vote, “Most of [The Patriot Act] has to do with improving the transfer of information between CIA and FBI, and it has to do with things that really were quite necessary in the wake of what happened on September 11th.” (Sen. John Kerry, Remarks At Town Hall Meeting, Manchester, NH, 8/6/03)

Anti- Patriot Act? John Kerry stands behind you on this one too. Now Kerry attacks the Patriot Act, “We are a nation of laws and liberties, not of a knock in the night. So it is time to end the era of John Ashcroft. That starts with replacing the Patriot Act with a new law that protects our people and our liberties at the same time. I’ve been a District Attorney and I know that what law enforcement needs are real tools not restrictions on American’s basic rights.” (Sen. John Kerry, Remarks At Iowa State University, 12/1/03)

Politically speaking all of those who are voting for Sen. John F. Kerry should actually be feeling cheated, raped, abused and used. How can any gullible supporter of Kerry and Edwards deny they’ve bought into the biggest pimp’in political operation of skewed and screwed platforms in political history? Are Kerry/Edwards supporters really all low self esteemed abuse victims that have bought anything their “lovers” wanted them to buy into? The lying and cheating spouse who says and does anything to keep their oppressive, elitist, French thumb upon their partners heads is just who some of you are voting for on Election Day. You’ve let yourselves become the victims of what should now and forever be termed “Political Karma Sutra,” any candidate running for an office who takes all positions on any given subject is literally screwing all their followers.
Don’t stand, sit or turn your back on John F. Kerry if he’s elected to serve as our president for too long, you never know what position he’ll try using on you and the damage done may be irreparable to our nation.

Integrity, integrity, integrity

K.L. Marsala

According to the New International Webster's Dictionary the definition of integrity is: n. strict compliance to an ethical standard; the state of being whole or sound. Now let's define ethical: adj. morally right. Putting this definition together one could say- Integrity enforces rules and is absolute in conforming to a moral standard; standing firm on truth and not windsurfing.

John Kerry's mother couldn't have spoken these words of "integrity, integrity, integrity" any more prophetically to her son as she lay dying in her hospital bed a couple of years ago. Was John Kerry's mother telling her son something he doesn’t hold true to his heart and soul? John Kerry's mother felt the need to repeat a message of adherence to a higher calling of moral standards and then standing strong and true in them- unwavering marching forward with a banner of "integrity, integrity, integrity."

As a senator of twenty years, Kerry's flip-flopping and windsurfing I am sure has left the meaning of integrity deeply saddened. Kerry is in lockstep with one of the most liberal officials in our government, Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts, voting with Sen. Kennedy 93 per cent of the time.

The nonpartisan National Journal Scored Kerry’s Votes Most Liberal In Senate For 2003. Kerry scored a Senate-high 97 per cent liberal rating for 2003, beating out Sens. Barbara Boxer (91), Hillary Clinton (89), Ted Kennedy (88), and Tom Daschle (80). (National Journal Website, "How They Measured Up," 2/27/04)

John Kerry as our presidential hopeful claims he's for the middle class, yet his record on raising taxes shows him to be otherwise. As Senator - John Kerry has voted at least 350 times for higher taxes. Under former President Clinton - John Kerry voted for the biggest tax increase In American history. Presidential Nominee John Kerry voted against President Bush’s historic 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. John Kerry has voted against the Balanced Budget Amendment at least five times and lastly John (integrity) Kerry has voted against major tax relief at least 29 times. John Kerry calls for fiscal responsibility but his record shows in 1993 he voted for the largest tax hike in history.

Kerry's windsurfing on our taxes is not what the middle class needs. In September 2001, Kerry stated on (NBC's Meet The Press, 8/2/01) that we shouldn't raise taxes in an economic downturn. Kerry is quoted as saying, "The first priority is the economy of our nation. And when you have a downturn in the economy, the last thing you do is raise taxes or cut spending. We shouldn’t do either. We need to maintain a course that hopefully will stimulate the economy. . . . No, we should not raise taxes, but we have to put everything on the table to take a look at why we have this structural problem today. . . you don’t want to raise taxes."

Then in April 2002, Sen. Kerry stated he wanted a larger tax cut and was- "Not in favor of" a repeal. CNN’s Tucker Carlson of Crossfire, 4/16/02 asked Kerry, "Senator Kerry, . . . [many Democrats] get a lot of political mileage out of criticizing [President Bush’s tax cut], but nobody has the courage to say repeal it. Are you for repealing it?" John Kerry replied, "It’s not a question of courage. . . . And it’s not an issue right now. We passed appropriately a tax cut as a stimulus, some billion. Many of us thought it should have even maybe been a little bit larger this last year . . . . The next tax cut doesn’t take effect until 2004. If we can grow the economy enough between now and then, if we have sensible policies in place and make good choices, who knows what our choices will be. So it’s simply not a ripe issue right now. And I’m not in favor of turning around today and repealing it."

Then in December 2002, Kerry flip-flopped on NBC’s Meet The Press, 12/1/02. Tim Russert asked Kerry, "Senator . . . should we freeze or roll back the Bush tax cut?" Kerry stated, "Well, I wouldn’t take away from people who’ve already been given their tax cut . . . . What I would not do is give any new Bush tax cuts. . . ." Russert asked, "So the tax cut that’s scheduled to be implemented in the coming years . . . ." Kerry replied, "No new tax cut under the Bush plan. . . . It doesn’t make economic sense." Russert then holds Kerry's flip-flops to the fire, "Now, this is a change, because let me show you what you said in September of 2001 when I asked you the very same question."

How can any of us trust a man who now wants to take our money back and spend it the way he sees fit in his socialistic governmental plan? How is this right for the middle class? Where is the integrity?

How does John Kerry's integrity hold up for the married middle class? John Kerry first stated that he would fight to keep tax relief for married couples. Kerry said, "Howard Dean and Gephardt are going to put the marriage penalty back in place. So if you get married in America, we’re going to charge you more taxes. I do not want to do that." (Fox News’ "Special Report," 10/23/03). Then on MSNBC's News Live 7/31/03 Kerry is quoted as saying, "We fought hard to get rid of the marriage penalty." But, in 1998, Kerry voted against eliminating marriage penalty relief for married taxpayers with combined incomes less than ,000 per year, saving taxpayers Billion over 10 years. (S. 1415, CQ Vote #154: Rejected 48-50: R 5-49; D 43-1, 6/10/98, Kerry Voted Yea) Where is the integrity we ask again John Kerry?

Many middle class Americans are small business owners. Where is John Kerry's integrity to support the American entrepreneurial spirit and create more jobs? Sen. Kerry voted against exempting small businesses and family farms from Clinton income tax increase. (S. Con. Res. 18, CQ Vote #79: Motion Agreed To 54-45: R 0-43; D 54-2, 3/25/93, Kerry Voted Yea), but three months later Sen. Kerry voted in favor of proposal to exclude small businesses from the increased income tax. (S. 1134, CQ Vote #171: Motion Rejected 56-42: R 43-0; D 13-42, 6/24/93, Kerry Voted Yea)

John Kerry claimed he fought to exempt small businesses from income tax increases. Kerry stated, "I worked to amend the reconciliation bill so that it would exempt small businesses who are classified as subchapter S corporations from the increased individual income tax." (Sen. John Kerry, Congressional Record, 6/29/93, p. S 8268)

John Kerry do you understand what your stance on raising the taxes on those who make more than 200,000 a year is going to have on the small business owner? Perhaps you don't need the integrity to stand for those who own small businesses and their desire to grow their industry to create more jobs for the American people- you don't have to- you married up.

Integrity when it comes to health care is something not only small businesses owners need to be concerned over, but an issue all American's who don’t want government sanctioned health care ever.

In 2001, Sen. Kerry voted against the amendment that would provide seventy billion for tax credits for small business to purchase health insurance. (H. Con. Res. 83, CQ Vote #83: Rejected 49-51: R 48-2; D 1-49, 4/5/01, Kerry Voted Nay)

Now, Presidential Nominee John Kerry promises refundable tax credits to the small business owner for health coverage. Kerry is quoted, "Refundable tax credits for up to 50 percent of the cost of coverage will be offered to small businesses and their employees to make health care more affordable." ("John Kerry’s Plan To Make Health Care Affordable To Every American," John Kerry For President Website, www.johnkerry.com, Accessed 1/21/04). Well when Sen. Kerry wasn't running for the office that demands integrity he was against the small business owner. Has he now seen the light or is this just another piecrust promise -easily made- and easily broken? Can the small business owner really rely on Kerry to keep his word or will it blow another direction again?

As John Kerry touts health care for all under his governmental program lets examine how his integrity has held up over the years on health care for the masses.

In 1993, Kerry expressed doubts that federal employees health benefits system worked well. "Hillary Rodham Clinton today offered a fresh description of one of the most confusing elements of the Administration health care plan, the health insurance purchasing alliances, saying they would let all Americans choose coverage in the way members of Congress do. Senator John Kerry, Democrat of Massachusetts, said he was not sure that the Federal program worked all that well." (Adam Clymer, "Hillary Clinton Says Health Plan Will Be Familiar," The New York Times, 12/8/93).

In the Boston Globe 12/19/93, Ana Puga reported on the "Lawmakers Talk Health Care" article stated that Sen. Kerry expressed his personal dissatisfaction with his coverage through the Federal program. "Earlier this month, when Hillary Rodham Clinton came to Boston and vowed that average Americans would get as good coverage as that enjoyed by their senators and representatives, Sen. John F. Kerry told Clinton that he thought the country could do better. The Massachusetts Democrat said he was thinking, among other recent disasters, of his dental bill for treatment of an abscessed tooth. ‘Because it was done in the dentist’s office, rather than the hospital, they didn’t cover it. So they were urging me to go spend twice as much in a hospital,’ said Kerry, who is covered by BACE, the Beneficial Association of Capitol Employees."

Now, on the crusade trail, Kerry is passionate about the health care he receives as Senator. Kerry stated, "As a U.S. Senator, I could get the best health care in the world. Most people aren’t so lucky, and we need to change that. That’s why my plan gives every American access to the same kind of health care that members of Congress give themselves.  Because your family’s health care is just as important as any politicians’ in Washington." (Sen. John Kerry, "Affordable Health Care For All Americans," Remarks At Mercy Medical, Cedar Rapids, IA, 12/14/03)

John Kerry claimed in 1994 that the Democrats push health care too much (Boston Herald 11/30/94). In his final moments towards the election homestretch Kerry has now turned his empty campaign promises of healthcare into- "my passion." John Kerry now claims that health care is his "passion." Sen. Kerry says expanding coverage is "my passion." (USA Today 6/2/03).

Gee, just a few weeks ago I thought John Kerry's passion was just about "I served in Vietnam." What happened?

These windsurfing flip-flops are but a glimpse into a man who hasn't an ounce of integrity. The public at large will never know of John Kerry's unstable stances on double taxation dividends, 50-cent tax gas increase, litmus tests for judicial nominees, welfare reform, stock option expensing, flip flopping on ,000 donations limits to his PAC, ballistic missile defense, strategic petroleum reserve, funding for our troops in Iraq and his latest view on the war on terror.

Kerry's lack of integrity wants us to turn back the clock to the days prior to 9/11 where terror was nothing more than a nuisance. Comparing this war against evil murderers who kill innocents in the name of Allah to a nuisance like prostitution is a slap in the face to all who've been murdered or died for the cause of liberty.

The main stream media isn’t going to divulge the true character of those who belong to the far-left group of John Kerry, they haven't any integrity either. It's up to us as individual American's to search for truth, study the candidates and compare their integrity side by side. We can be blind and believe the lies or we can take a stand as a nation and demand "integrity, integrity, integrity."

John Kerry by definition never listened to the wise words of his dear dying mother

George W. Bush and His “Stupid” Kool-Aid Drinkin Buddies

K L Marsala

Oh, how the ranters of Salon.com and other elitist’s intelligentsia biased snobs must be foaming at the mouth over the re-election of our President (George W. Bush) of the United States.

I always look forward to reading their blasting, dogmatic hatred of conservative writers, such as myself. These robotic socialistic snoots love to post their hatred filled sites with derogatory remarks, foul language and hate mongering for those who don’t agree with them.

What I really enjoy reading though are their letters of hatred for me and for others who think like I do. Never are there emails over substantive debate, but only over the so called “lack” of our abilities to live up to their level of knowledge on grammar and punctuation.

Aren’t the liberal elitists, those who spent untold millions on anti Bush rhetoric and sang their little vocal chords out during the joke called, “Rock the Vote” (George Soros, Bruce Springsteen etc) the ones who wanted “style over substance?”

The common “hicks” in them thar red states said, “No way!” We the people took a stand against both coasts and demanded that our voices be heard over all the money spent on microphones and T.V ads. We said enough to botox, fake tans, plastic surgery, “Breck” hair, ambulance chasing lawyers, judges who over step their constitutional boundaries and most of all NO to the entertainers who are spewing forth too much elitists pride.

Gee, it would seem most of America must be pretty darn common in their expression of how they view- “the land of the free and home of the brave.” Whether we marched forth verbally or by pen- the ivory leagued educated liberals just hated us with a passion and evidently they still do.

Isn’t America great?

Funny thing is most of us never claimed we were well educated in writing or speaking, we just do our best to express our opinions. What we lack in style we- like our President George W. Bush- make up for in our honesty, our unwavering stance in our beliefs and our deep abiding love for our freedoms. This seems to drive the socialist loving, self worshipping wolves of supreme intellect into becoming raving lunatic tail spinners.

The intelligentsia crowd can continue to spit venom of disgust over our inability to be as some of the demagogue entertainers and over our lack of educational degrees, but this is America and she was designed to have diverse opinions to be a part of who she is. We must keep in mind though that along with her grand design comes America’s ground rules. If we are to hold onto our Republic we must abide in the structure laid forth, otherwise we cannot survive as a free nation and continue to breathe within our unique structure. Socialism, communism, anarchy and monarchy are not what this country was designed to run on.

For those of you who’d rather live under the belief system of the United Nations, a good portion of Europe or our “friends” to the north, Canada, good-bye. If you love their ideals of running a political system, then by all means bye-bye. Once you’ve decided that their way of doing things is your cup of toxic poison, then by all means leave our free country because you’re free here to do that. You’ve become so drunk on your own self absorbed demagoguery that the kool-aid you’re sloshin down truly is full of everything that is anti-free and anti-American.

Just try in your new homeland to vocally or verbally dissent and see how long it will be before you are permanently silenced.

Try selling your book or film in the former oppressed country called, Iraq- Madonna. How would your wares of nudity and sexual liaisons, let alone speaking out and having an opinion as a woman have been received I wonder? Put forth your best efforts Mr. Moore in peddling your films and books of hatred for another country while you live there and grow richer and fatter. Mr. Moore you’d be hogged tied and placed in a pen faster than you can say- “Here piggy, piggy!”

But I’ve got to ask, why? Why in the world are these far left wing nuts so unhappy with America and her system of beliefs? Why is it every election cycle they spend untold millions to oust a conservative? Why do they lie, cheat and say anything to give a conservative the boot? What is it all of you socialist elitists hate so much about the structure of our great nation? Why do you desire for us to replicate what hasn’t worked in Europe for so long? Socialism and her ways are antiquated- they don’t work-never have and they never will.

America, she isn’t perfect- she’s run by imperfect beings- called humans.

Although, she was designed to run by some of the most brilliant, god fearing minds that have ever walked God’s green earth. Scholarly men, whose intelligence quotient blows all of those who like to espouse “Mensa” mentality. Our Founding Fathers studied and analyzed various great civilizations to see what worked and what didn’t work to come up with our formula for a nation that has been a “grand experiment,” one that has continued to work beautifully for many years now. We have strayed away at times from the successful formula of our constitution and we need good, honest and hard working people to keep her pure and undefiled. Socialistic doctrine is not a part of our constitutions fabric, nor should it ever be.

America the beautiful, she’s full of hope, promise and some of the best tasting soft drinks available anywhere. Those of us from the “red states” aren’t “stupid,” we just believe in our constitution, our country and our President George W. Bush.

The kool-aid of old (aka socialism and her kin) is nothing but toxic waste and need to be dumped into the sewer.

Women Need A Man- Someone Like W.

K L Marsala

Since the inception of the radical feminist movement over thirty years ago it would appear women no longer need or admire strong independent men. The fixation with "girl power" the NOW Gang and Steinman doctrine really helped the female bird fly over the cuckoo's nest. The radical doctrinal beliefs of these old embittered men hating battalions are gradually being adjusted. Strong independent women are finding the balance of being who they are and at the same time appreciating the strong independent qualities in their men. Take for instance a woman such as Condoleezza Rice. A sagacious, accomplished African-American woman who displays great admiration for the male gender that stands on convictions and principals- not polls.

Intelligent women such as Condoleezza Rice are to be admired and emulated. Unlike many of the other woman, who were at the inception of the feminine movement, Condoleezza Rice took a different path. Perhaps it all began when she took a stand against "Jim Crow Democrats" whom wouldn't let her father vote in Alabama in 1952. Rice lived through the segregation, racial atrocities, and even lost one of her schoolmates in the Birmingham church bombing in 1963. No doubt she gained her convictions through witnessing the injustices forced upon her father and through the murder of her fellow classmates this recognition brought to light where equal rights truly come from. They come from the foundation of believing we are all individually responsible for our own actions and destinies. Hence, women such as Condoleezza Rice, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, and Michelle Malkin are recognized as self-assured women who are intelligent and progressive in their viewpoints. Women must take back what the radical feminist movement stole not only from females, but what they stole from men as well. These women who grew up under the umbrella of militant feminism have become witnesses to modern women and what we in our voting power desire and want accomplished by our leaders. Today's well-accomplished woman knows that they want men who will not waver or "windsurf" in their decision making. They know that in order to protect our homes we need strong decisive man.

Many years have passed since this country has had a man of convictions lead her. Women voters across America have come to understand what makes us strong, safe and secure as a people is a leader who will dare to stand strong in what they believe. There is great admiration by women for men who will not sway or tergiversate. Indecisiveness is not an admirable quality in anyone. Women don't mind if someone honestly changes their minds (after all women are known for changing theirs) but to pull the old switcheroo every couple of days because the winds are blowing, this is not what women want to help them feel safe and secure.

We as the female gender are voting for the re-election of President Bush not because we agree with everything he stands for straight down the party line, but men like our president give us a sense of stability and security. When our president takes a stand on an issue that has far reaching consequences on the safety and well being of our homes against terrorist, we find trust in his convictions. Trust and character count, you could say they've come back into fashion. American women are recognizing strong dedicated leadership for what it is. President Bush will not go to France or the U.N. for permission to defend our homeland. President Bush will not pander to the politics of far-left sabotage. President Bush will not cower to the tantrums of naysayers. President Bush will not retreat, run, and hide from those who wish to kill us in cold blood. He has drawn his line in the sand and we as moms, wives, lawyers, girlfriends, doctors, and journalist can rest assured that this breed of what a man is- is what women want. "Girly men" or "Metrosexual" men are not what women need or want. Being able to speak French, having ties to the Kennedy family and being married to money may play well on the movie screen, but being a namby-pamby wave drifter will not save our souls. Yes, we want men to treat us as their equal, under our differences of operation, but more importantly what we want is our men to be men. Kind, dependable, strong, resolute, loving, self assured, masculine men is what protects our homes, our children, our cities, our states, our nation and our world from the evils of those like the terrorist who seek to destroy our very lives.

A real man is what women want, and what women need- President George W. Bush a man of convictions and unwavering in his protection of the land he loves. We women hold the voting power. We hold the ability to decide which man is the clear-thinking steadfast man who will take a stand against those who seek to kill our families, our friends and our loved ones. What women need, is a man like W.

This Damn Spot Will Not Come Out

K L Marsala

Prior to 9-11 all of us turned a blind eye to the bombings, murders and terrorist atrocities being committed. Why though the U.N. and the far left continue to live in their dreamland of terrorist denial  since that pivotal point is beyond reasonable understanding. Globally the political policy has been sanction application. No doubt there have been times when sanctions have worked, but more often than not when a group of insane bloodthirsty ideologist connect they become a mass of death and destruction- sanctions are nothing more than a hug and a mild form of a reprimand. The terrorist organizations could really care less what sanctions we apply. They've their own line of credit to fund their bombings, beheadings, and monstrous acts of fear. Sanctions will not work. They've been putting millions of dollars away in terror accounts for years. The brilliance of these terrorists is they've worked their deception so well, that too many were lulled into a sense of false security. Wake up U.N., John Kerry and the far left!

Why are the sanction ideologist's the group recognized and praised for intelligence and compassion? Those who play within this group are those who condone murders and genocide's worldwide. Take a look around the world and the terrifying murders happening daily, Sudan for one is a good example, what is the group of compassion doing to stop the genocide? How does their far left thinking make them more noble? When the left will continue to turn their backs on taking a stand against those who are committing atrocities against humanity worldwide they've become the party whose position is the epitome of selfishness. Peace in the world is not and cannot be obtained on this worldwide war on terror by heeding the voices of those like Kofi Anan, John Kerry, France, and their followers. If you vote for John Kerry you cannot claim the moral high ground. Kerry's flip- flops on our war to defend our survival of freedom is dangerous and deadly. One moment Kerry is looking to support our war on terror and in the next blink Kerry wants to pull out our troops, leaving a catastrophic vacuum of death and chaos.  Kerry and his leftover 1960's ideologists will continue to relive Vietnam and try to paint a picture that this is where we are today. We've never known or experienced what we awoke to on the morning of 9/11. President Bush isn’t living in the past; his eyes are wide open to the understanding of where we are now as a people, as a nation and where we are globally.

The security of our world can only be found on the platform of ideals that we must take a stand against tyranny and radical murderers. The only way we can secure our society is to advance the cause of human rights. Whether those human rights are in mid-America, Sudan, the Middle East, China, or where ever there is oppression of the human spirit of freedom. We must stand and fight- not play political games, terrorism is real.  Just ask the parents of the Beslan massacre, ask those loved ones left who had their family members beheaded by the monsters who cry "Allah." These innocents are the sacrificial lambs to the gutless ideologies of the U. N. and the far left. As the blood of innocent children and adults cries out from Beslan, the Middle East, Sudan, Madrid, Jerusalem, Istanbul, Baghdad and New York City. Where has the far left and the U. N. stood? They've stood and are still standing in the pools of innocent blood encircling their feet. This damn spot cannot be removed.

This world has seen evil incarnate too many times. Travel back in time and the acts of Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot and others are almost too much for our souls to bear. The time has come, we're at the inception of our new century, we must take a stand and fight for our children, our grandchildren, and our generations to come. President Bush's vision for liberty for all humankind is the only alternative to the tyranny and oppression desired by terrorists and those who stand helping them in their ideology. Our President Bush is a doer. Our allies on this war on terror are doers. We waited too long and let too many incidents go unpunished against a group of murderous thugs who desire nothing more than to murder anyone outside their radical beliefs. Our nation isn't just a location sitting within a continent, but it is an idea of freedom from oppression. This is our President's ideal and it belongs to the coalition of the seventy countries that have joined forces with our belief in freedom. They understand this and are willing to stand with us and fight against the evils of hate.

We went into Iraq for many reasons. Most of the world believed the weapons of mass destruction were not far from becoming a nuclear bomb tomorrow. Experts worldwide believed the terrorist networks had what they needed to cause mass murder. In many ways the WMD's have disguised themselves as other destructive tools other than what we believed to be there. The ability of the terrorist to create hysteria, lies, deception and fear has really become their WMD and the U.N. and the far left are feeding it. al-Zarqawi and his followers have been determined to overthrow what they see as the "Great Satan" long before 9/11 occurred. According to Interim Iraqi Prime Minister, Ayad Allawi, what is happening in Iraq is a global problem with International terrorists. Iraq has her hot spots and prior to 9/11 Iraq had become the place the terrorist worldwide converged. Iraq has been one of the spots in the Middle East that this nest of roaches has been allowed to breed. When nations slap one here or there with sanctimonious flip-flops the result has been stronger inbreeding of hatred. This roaches nest of terrorist has grown to astronomical proportions. If we don't annihilate these WMD's where they breed hatred they will be flying more airplanes into our buildings. Embolden- they will continue to bomb us, they will be beheading more of our innocent hardworking people and they will be busting down our doors and slicing through our ideals of freedom.

Do we vote for the perpetuation under the thinking of the far left and the U.N. this next election? Do we really want to follow the far lefts take on how the United States foreign policy should run? Global terrorism is a global phenomenon. Iraq is the theater of terrorism. If we follow John Kerry's plan we've morally lit the fuse and sharpened the blade for al-Zarqawi and those who follow his doctrine of hatred. When we put a man of true character named George W. Bush back into the White House he can continue his work supporting the allied forces. Together we can continue to exterminate the roaches nests and to set into motion the continued force we need globally to win this battle against the terrorist who abhor all that is good, just, right and free to choose. Under President Bush we can help build a century for all that will ring with liberty.

Will we be cowards and turn our backs on those who cry for help? Will our moral fabric become yellowed? It may if we go the way of Kerry and the U.N. but our yellow stripe of cowardice will soon turn red here at home. These murderous terrorists will be on our doorstep again, and the Twin Towers will look like a small staged play compared to what their true intentions are to our ideologies and their determine myopic desire to terminate us from the earth. President Bush is what we need now and for the next four years to facilitate and protect along with our allies the offerings of liberties to all that desire them.

Hillary, The Dirty Dozen and Karl Marx

Kerry L Marsala- www.therant.us; www.opeds.com; www.mensnewsdaily.com

"The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the
beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years,
these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From Bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage." -Alexander Tyler (Lord Woodhouselee, Alexander Fraser
Tytler a Scottish historian/professor who wrote several books in the late 1700s and early 1800s.)

Over the next few months what we've become as a nation will be very revealing. With America creeping towards the end of her cycle, between complacency and apathy, will we allow the ugly hand of apathy to stretch forth and grasp what may become our demise as a Republic? How close are we to loosing our faith, courage, liberty, and abundance? There are some already who believe we must take things away so we can get back on track, all in the name of ability and need. Does it seem America is already clutching dependence and creeping close to bondage? Have we bought into the lies that come with dependence on government to care for all our needs? Is bondage knocking on the door of the red, white, and blue? More over are we willing to accept bondage again?

There was a time in our country when those who believed in socialistic, or communistic ideals where either quite in their beliefs, deceivingly wove them into speeches of promise or added them as an addendum to a bill. Now they freely espouse them, with no fear of someone questioning them or retribution.

It would seem that America in present state must be in the stage of complete apathy. Otherwise how was it possible for Sen. Hillary Clinton to have been so embolden to state unequivocally at a fund raiser in late June for Sen. Barbara Boxer, that cost 10,000 a plate the following, "Many of you are well enough off that...the (Bush) tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." Sen. Clinton didn't sugar coat it, she didn't dress it up and make it sound pretty. There were no words of deceit coming from her lips she told the truth. And all those in attendance cheered her. Did no one at the fundraiser ask, what 'things' she was in reference to? What 'things' are we going to have taken away from us? Who decides whose 'things' get taken? Who decides how much of our 'things' gets taken? Who decides when we've had enough of our 'things' taken? What are you going to do with my 'things' Hillary and the Democrats who are now lying in the same bed of Marxist Manifesto proclamations? But most of all, why did all those dependent people who attended the fundraiser let her get away with placing all of us back into bondage?

Where is the outrage over the Marxist Manifesto rising in America? Or has America become too much a part of, "From each according to his ability. To each according to his need."? - Karl Marx

As if the red colored flag Sen. Clinton is waving isn't enough to scare you out of apathy, we also have US Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson and her eleven Democrat cohorts in Congress on Friday requesting that the United Nations watch for "questionable practices" in this year's U.S. presidential election. Excuse me, did I miss an announcement from Kofi Annan that the United States was no longer a sovereign nation, and we now belong to the United Nations of Global Social Democracy?

This half baked dozen said they were afraid of a repeat 2000 election, since it was in the last election we had the hanging, pregnant, improperly handled chads of the voting cards, which were recounted four different times. These Democrats who feel that traditionally minorities vote Democrat don't want another repeat of uncounted votes because of faulty voting machines and improper instructions. We all can agree that we need to be sure for all legal American citizens who desire to vote that there must be easy and understandable access to the voting cards and booths. As well, I am sure the Democrats don't desire to discount some of the military votes like they did last time either.

The twelve Democrats wrote a letter to U.N. President Annan stating their deep concern, "that the right of U.S. citizens to vote in free and fair elections", may be again in jeopardy. Who ever thought giving America's voters the right to cast their vote over to an international institution, that is not accountable to the American people, was the way to solve their fear of uncertain chads? We now have chadaphobia, so the Democrats who signed this letter must be having chadisms, poor dears.

I have to ask the twelve, Eddie Bernice Johnson of Dallas, Jerrold Nadler, Edolphus Towns, Joseph Crowley and Carolyn B. Maloney, all of New York, Raul Grijalva of Arizona, Corrine Brown of Florida, Elijah E. Cummings of Maryland, Danny K. Davis of Illinois, Michael M. Honda of California, and Julia Carson of Indiana -remember their names- how is it as a member of Congress, someone sworn to uphold the Constitution and elected to represent her people, that you would even consider the sacred act of America's core, voting for our President, to be judged by any other form of government or body of people?

Our circle is quickly coming to bondage. When the Democrats will no longer try and hide their true agendas but will blast them from the pinnacle of asinine doctrine, and no one seems to care enough to call them on the carpet for it. We really have settled our fat lazy butts too far down into the sinkhole of apathetic bondage. Tell me, how are we going to like being tied up and for how long will we tolerate it?

Wake up America your Republic is under assault. If you desire safety and sovereignty for yourselves and your children, practice allowing your abundance to take on liberty. Let your liberty stand for courage and let the strength of your courage complete its fulfillment of spiritual faith. It's the only way we can stop the bondage some are suggesting for Americans. Save your freedoms, fight with conviction, and put an end to the cycle we are sliding down, before it's too late.

Will America's Heart and Soul Raise the Fahrenheit for Moore?

Kerry Marsala- www.therant.us www.amsiriano.com; www.ladylibrty.com; www.enterstageright.com www.landofthefree.com

Michael Moore and his followers are smoldering over the new Disney film, America's Heart and Soul. The film, America's Heart and Soul, was released at approximately the same time as Fahrenheit 9/11. Conspiracy theories are ablaze that Disney is in cahoots with the conservative right wingers. Moore, after the screening in Sacramento, had to run or should I say waddle, to his computer and post on his website the accusation that Disney is, "joining forces with the right-wing kooks who have come together to attempt to censor 'Fahrenheit 9/11." Is Michael Moore worried that the movie, America's Heart and Soul, will make people feel good about themselves and their country?

Certainly there must be an underlying agenda. Why would Disney prior to public release show the film to the Sierra Club and the far right group called the Future Farmers of America? We all know the entertainment industry never promotes anything through likeminded niches (Moore-Cannes Festival, correlation?). Are you only allowed to promote your art and test the marketing waters if you're a far-left social elitist? According to Moore, you have to belong to the loony left; otherwise you're trying to censor.

Why would film director, Louis Schwartzberg, focus his camera lens across America for the last ten years, and talk with farmers, bike messengers, former Olympian boxers, cowpokes, stunt pilots, and the like? Ask yourself, was it to censor Moore? In the movie, America's Heart and Soul, a farmer states that he finds 'pleasure in watching his kid grow up'. What does that have to do with censoring Moore's Fahrenheit film?

I don't know, maybe Moore is right about Schwartzberg, Disney and the right wing conservative organizations. They are all trying to censor him. Hey Moore, get a grip or better yet since paranoia is setting in, perhaps a padded room and a straight jacket would be more appropriate?

Is it possible that Schwartzberg and Disney are just releasing a film that shows a magnificent country with great American people? Is there room in cinematic celluloid to film a movie depicting hard working and loving American patriots? Bless these people's hearts, they praise the opportunities that have been afforded to them, by the greatest nation ever. No, certainly we American's don't love a good story filled with success's, and hopes about our positive future.

Personally, I believe when you're in a really bummed out funk, you should go and pay to see Fahrenheit 9/11. Get your self really knocked down, and depressed over the supposed conditions the Bush Administration has put America in. Buy into the premise that Bush personally had Ladens family flown out of the country immediately following 9/11. Then go home, kick the dog, and curse the day Bush took office and start searching for the truth. (This may mean you will have to look in other places, other than far leftist news sources. Try counter balancing with far right news sources, then look through neutral news sources. Somewhere in the mix you'll understand that America isn't the bad guy.) Richard Clark, who Moore sites for most of his information, even states that it was he, Clark- not Bush, that got Ladens family out of the country post 9/11. This will only be one of the first lies Moore has touted as truths. You will start to see and feel better.

After your mind begins to clear and the fog of deceit over the lies about President Bush and America have subsided into truthful understanding, pat your dog on the head, and open your front door to a bright day. Go to the theater of your choice and pay to see what America's hopes and dreams are about. America is about optimism, and the belief that as long as we are willing to defend and fight for our freedoms we will keep this magnificent country.

Moore and his followers are not what made or make this country. It is the common person who comprehends what their lives as Americans are. They are full of hope and seek the endless opportunities to be had by all that desire them. They greet their loving families, worship their God, appreciate their blessings, work hard at play, and play hard at work. America, she's a great thing; she is the 'heart and soul' of freedom.

You Say John Kerry- I Say Cicada

K L Marsala

Every time I think of the recipes to make Cicada brunch, I keep thinking of John Kerry. Amazing isn't it? How in the world can one find such warped humor between the two ah, gourmet delicacies?

Let me explain.

The East Coast as well as the Mid West are being inundated with approximately 1.5 million per acre little bugs called cicadas. These type of noisy little exo-skeleton creatures only make their debut from the dust of the ground every 17 years and they are an entomologist dream and a gourmet challenged persons delight! The internet recipe sights have been barraged with the plethora of ways to cook up these elegantly desirable buzz buzzes. I suppose for some they are even an aphrodisiac (I wonder if Clinton and Lewinsky tried these?) or more like a hive bearing allergic attack, but I am digressing here.

How do these little creatures that are being sauted in butter and garlic remind me of John Kerry you ask? Prior to popping these miniature morsels into your mouth they go through a cleaning process of sorts. They are washed, sorted and their exo-skeletons are removed prior to cooking. The exo-skeleton of a cicada is much like that of a shrimp. Most people don't enjoy biting into the shell of a shrimp; the skeleton can be tough, crunchy and get stuck in your throat or between your teeth causing a gag reaction. Just as the peeling away of John Kerry can be witnessed by all, his outer shell is slowly trying to be stripped away and improved upon.

Each time I turn on the TV and Kerry shows his mug, you can see the stripping away of his exo-skeleton. The Botox injections, skin peels and brow waxing all are but mere outward removable skeletal parts to make Kerry look younger, fresher, healthier and more appealing. Funny thing is though-when I try and bite into his lexis, I start to break out in hives. The only remedy one can find to trying to make one more appealing is a shot of truth serum.

Perhaps, Mr. Kerry, if they added some extra garlic and butter to your...naw it just won't work. Your true confused, waffling, unstable, blow hard espousals would all taste the same no matter the sauce or removal of age.

Sensible Heels and a Running Mate

Kerry L Marsala- www.opeds.com; Independent Newspapers; www.therant.us; www.amsiriano.com; www.ladylibrty.com

The mainstream news media has finally figured out the reason Democrat nominee for President, John Kerry, picked Sen. Edwards to be his Vice Presidential running mate. It was so clever of the mainstream too; I don't know why the rest of us couldn't see it. According to the New York Times writer, Sheryl Gay Stolberg, it must be Edwards's wife, Elizabeth. Stolberg gave away Kerry's secret weapon to win back the White House for the Democrats when she revealed that Elizabeth Edwards made her debut on television wearing a "solid taupe pantsuit and sensible heels." What in the world does a 'solid taupe pantsuit and sensible heels' have to do with anything? Unbelievable that now in the world of politics we have political journalist becoming fashion gurus.

Sensible heels aside, Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards is the answer to helping Kerry's flailing attempts to take over our government. Think back to the election year when Sen. Bob Dole and President Bill Clinton were in the race for the White House.

Here was Bob Dole and his supportive wife Elizabeth who appeared to be the picture perfect family. Sen. Dole had been involved in politics for years as a conservative voice and his wife Elizabeth had been involved in the political arena too. She served on various boards, under President Reagan and Bush, and was the President for the Red Cross. "Liddy" Dole has many diverse accomplishments. Mrs. Dole, like most Republican wives came across as a supportive spouse who had cared and placed her family's needs above her own. Mrs. Dole would eventually leave her station as President of the Red Cross and work along side her husband to help his campaign and try to get him elected to office. Mrs. Dole never spoke of being a 'co-president'.

Contrast the Republican side to the Democrat side. In order to win the hearts of Middle America Bill Clinton had to counterbalance his image. His wife Hillary was an outspoken talented lawyer, who made no bones about the fact she desired co-presidency. Mrs. Clinton was not seen as a nurturing wife and mother by moderates and conservatives, she was viewed, as a power driven woman- that was anti-tea and cookies.

So who did Clinton keep as his running mate? Al Gore and his wife Tipper. Tipper was the opposite of Hillary. You couldn't get more black and white if you tried. Tipper would be their secret weapon to help garner votes from Middle America. Mrs. Gore was petite, bubbly, cute and had fought for the protective rights of children against abusive language on music CD's.

Surprise! All along you thought the President's and Vice President's wives didn't matter. But they do matter, and America still isn't completely comfortable with domineering women. This is why Kerry had to pick someone like The Edwards.

Hence you have John Kerry and his lovely bride Theresa Heinz Kerry. Theresa comes across as a strong, aloof woman who doesn't seem to care much for American politics. To soften this harsh side of Kerry's team projection, Kerry picks a running mate that has a marital partner who is a woman of strong family convictions. Mrs. Edwards unequivocally demonstrates that supporting your husband should come first and family is what life is really all about in America.

Her strong sense of propriety of how John Edwards comes across to the American public became an issue between her and Sen. Edwards's media consultant, David Axelrod. Elizabeth Edwards didn't feel Axelrod was living up to the expectations she had for her husband's bid for the Presidential Democrat nomination. Mrs. Edwards understood and was politically savvy enough to know that projecting Sen. Edward's sunny disposition of optimism was just what needed to be done. Evidently someone put the buzz in Kerry's ear as well; that is what his campaign needs more than anything, an optimistic Broadway production of 'Annie'. Kerry's negativism and Mrs. Heinz Kerry's disdain for America needed a good shot of optimism.

For John Kerry, Mr. and Mrs. John Edwards, are just what might make 'the sun come out tomorrow' for the Democrats and their political chances of taking the White House back. The counter balance of husband and family first personified- worked in the case of the Clinton/Gore ticket, why wouldn't it work again?

Politician's wives play a bigger role than most will give credit. It isn't what the politicians wives wear, it isn't if they are fashionable, it isn't if they are chubby or svelte, it isn't even how many committees they have served on. It's all based upon how the general public views them. Let's face it in America still today- tea and cookies, along with nurturing and caring for our own families, still beats a sour staunch fisted, self-seeking portrayal of womanhood for most voters. The Republican Party for the most part always has had women in supportive roles, and it is something I think the Democrats are quickly catching on to.

Remember First Ladies- wear your sensible heels so you can help your mate run the best campaign possible. America isn't ready yet for a woman President or Vice President, but that in itself is a whole other topic.
