Everyone has their personal lists of things they would like to bid adieu too at the end of each year
Not that my list will be any better or hold more truth than yours. Nevertheless, it is my list as a commentator on cultural, political and society that I pronounce mine forward- feel free to disagree, agree or add on if you desire.
Things I would definitely like to say adios permanently to- for they I feel have been of no benefit:
Media/TV:
Dan Rather, Mary Mapes, Bill O Reilly, CBS, Reality Shows.
Dan Rather, Mary Mapes, and CBS all fall together into one big event that really I believe told the story of how the media has an agenda. The biased opinions being sold as truth were laid before the American public open and bare. Dan has now retired, Mapes is still defending her bad choice and peddling her book on CNN, and CBS perhaps has learned a thing or two.
I can hear the scratching of heads over me adding in Bill O’Reilly to a list of those I would like to see gone with 2005. I think Mr. O’Reilly had at one time truly a “No Spin Zone,” but as I have watched his show regularly, he appears to be caught up into too much of “Bill’s spin.” The bloviating at times is all O’Reilly’s opinion and little else. As a viewer of the show, I believe he has gotten away from his original formula. If he goes back to being the “No Spin Zone” then great- we need him and his talents.
Reality shows- come on do I really need to explain this one? Do we not already live in reality? Why do we need to watch loser unemployed actors who are drunk, having sex with anything that moves and spilling their emotional baggage on us? As well, why do we need to watch anyone do any of these things? Wasn't TV created to be an escape from it all or are our own lives so pathetic that we need to watch the suffering of others to make ourselves feel better?
Politicians:
John Kerry, Howard Dean
To the vacillator, Sen. Kerry, I would like to say au revoir forever. He cannot make up his mind or maybe he can- before he changed it. Lest we forget too, his comments on CBS’s Face the Nation I believe were inexcusable; “And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not...” Sen. John Kerry.
Howard “HeeeeYaaaaWWW!!!” Dean- you gotta love the guy for his candor, honesty and ability to open mouth and insert foot. Honestly, at least you do know where he stands politically, but his speaking of mind before thinking has placed him on the list of those who need to go- bye, bye. His declaration that, "the idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong” has landed this Democratic National Committee Chairman flat faced in the mud. Along with Nancy Pelosi and John Murtha and many of the other cohorts have done little to help our military force win, their comments have only aided and abetted the enemy.
Entertainment:
Paris Hilton, Michael Jackson, Kayne West, Britany Spears, Tom Cruise
Do these entertainers really need explanation? Paris Hilton- girl put away the camera and get a real job and a life. M. J., whatever really happened to his brilliant talent? I hope he never returns to sharing his bed anyone. Kayne West- just a loud mouth looking to sell his wares. Britany Spears- someone get her into therapy- she needs to find out who she really is. Tom Cruise- used to be Top Gun on my list of hunks, but his whole persona has becoming disturbingly troubled.
Anti-War Ranters:
Howard Dean, John Kerry, Cindy Sheehan, most of the entertainment industry.
It will take more than 9-11; the beheading of Nicholas Berg; terrorism in Bali; the London terrorist bombing (July 7th) to help these imbeciles get a clue.
Religious Leaders:
Jerry Falwell and Jesse Jackson
These two men may feel they walk with God, but it appears to me they live to walk in front of a camera.
Civil Liberty Action Organizations:
The American Civil Liberties Union or ACLU
This organization continues to baffle me. The ACLU states they are defenders of free speech:
“The mission of the ACLU is to preserve all of these protections and guarantees:
Your First Amendment rights-freedom of speech, association, and assembly. Freedom of the press, and freedom of religion supported by the strict separation of church and state.
Your right to equal protection under the law - equal treatment regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin.
Your right to due process - fair treatment by the government whenever the loss of your liberty or property is at stake.
Your right to privacy - freedom from unwarranted government intrusion into your personal and private affairs.”
Seems the ACLU has selective speech choices as they continually attack anything with a religious tone or flavor.
As Americans, we need our civil liberties protected not silenced by those who want to stomp out freedom of speech when it comes to Christianity.
It would appear the ACLU has forgotten this statement: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” - First Amendment, U.S. Constitution
Fashion:
Baggy Pants, short tops with bellies hanging out, and the “Toni and Guy” cookie cutter haircuts.
Education:
No Child Left Behind
This has become nothing more than a nightmare. Teaching to the test, mounds of paperwork, twelve-hour days, no weekends, and substandard pay. What insane person would pay for years of college to join? Yes, our educational system must be held to a higher standard, but we are killing our educators and limiting the education of our children by utilizing a very flawed idea.
Lawyers:
Ramsey Clark
He makes me scratch my head and say, a few extra prayers at night- frankly he scares me to death. His line up that he defends makes him a mad man. He has advised Bernard Coard, the murderer of Prime Minister Maurice Bishop, Radovan Karadzic, the indicted Bosnian Serbian war criminal, and the Rwandan pastor who is accused of telling Tutsis to hide in his church and then summoning Hutus to massacre them, and then leading killing squads. His latest client- Saddam.
Natural Disasters:
Katrina
Hurricane Katrina was the topic of concern for most of the year ending 2005. There remains much to do in the rebuilding, but the human spirit will not be quenched until all damaged areas are restored.
Medicine:
I’d like to leave behind those who have forgotten their Hippocratic oath- and killed slowly and deliberately Terri Schiavo. Add to this list all the murders of babies for 2005
Economy:
High gas prices- "As you know, the government takes 40 percent of what you make. The other 60 percent, of course, taken by the gas stations." - Jay Leno
Petrol prices took an enormous jump this last year and everything from hurricanes to the war was blamed for it -interesting how oil companies’ profits surged isn’t it?
Sports:
Illegal drug enhancing use.
On March 17th, 2005, Palmeiro testified during a hearing on Capitol Hill to examine the use of steroids in professional baseball. Hearing of the rampant use of steroids saddens many fans, but evidently, steroid use has long been a problem not only in baseball, but within the sports world at large.
I do suppose, just as McGwire stated, “he was not here to talk about the past, but to be positive and talk about the present and the future,” that that was a wise saying. As we move forward in 2006 and beyond, may all sports players put behind them the use of illegal drugs.
Looking forward:
These mentioned are but just a tip of the iceberg that I would like to bid adieu too, the true list of "forgettables" would be too long to mention.
Alas, though as 2006 has taken her debut we have John Kerry threatening to run in ’08, and we already have natural disasters occurring in Oklahoma , Texas , and California . All proving that overall things do not really change. We have our problems and dilemmas in this country and with this world. Whether the angst is caused by a thoughtless political gainer, or a natural disaster there are many things we all would like to leave at the ending of each year.
Perhaps though, as we bid certain irritants adieu, we first need to recall and study why these things occurred and honestly ask ourselves how we can do better next time around so at the year ending in 2006 our lists will all be shorter.
ShopGirl VS. ShopBoy
By K Marsala
Between the battle of the sexes, it has been reported that women know how to shop and men do not have a clue. Women, with their plastic cards in hand, appear to be able to out shop their boyfriends and husbands, and as consumers they seemed to have mastered the ability of always buying that ‘perfect gift’ for someone.
With very little polling data or scientific investigation, how can such claims be made? Is the realm of procuring items only relegated to the fairer sex or is there more to men’s abilities to accomplish the feat of shopping than women think? According to some girlfriends and wives, their male partners are totally inept consumers. They feel that men in general cannot shop and do not even desire to understand how to shop.
Michelle Courtright Bjork owner of Romeo Shops- http://www.romeoshops.com- whose slogan is- “because guys can’t shop”, has designed a shopping website set up to help the male pick, compare, purchase and even wrap his chosen gift for his lovely lady. Due to her quippy slogan though she has received all kinds of hate mail because people are claiming that she is reinforcing incorrect stereotypes of men. Now, I do not think Michelle is reinforcing any incorrect or negative stereotypes, perhaps we have all just become over sensitive politically correct boobs, her slogan is clever, eye catching and funny. After talking to her, I feel she is playing a bit tongue in cheek and using her business smarts to offer a way for busy men to shop easily for their women. Besides why should the slogan upset anyone chances are the same people who are offended by Romeo Shops slogan think Homer Simpson is a riot and doh he is. Homer could not find his way around a Victoria ’s Secret store to purchase Marge a thong unless a donut was tied to it.
One analysis conducted by marketing professor, Katherine Harris, of Wellesley 's Babson College , has made a study out of "holiday shopping behavior." In an editorial released from TownOnline.com Harris states that, "market research shows that male shoppers want to get in and out of stores quickly." Harris goes on to state that, "Men feel stuck when shopping with women and appreciate a place to sit, wait and even watch TV!” Adding to this Harris stated, “If tagging along, best to steer them to 'man friendly' departments like electronics." Well professor of marketing or not speaking as a female and for most of my female friends- we want to “get in and out of stores” just as quickly. We as women too feel “stuck” when we have to go shopping for certain items that our male counterparts are thrilled to spend hours searching, comparing, handling, and finally buying. We like to have a place to sit, wait, and even watch TV as well.
Could it be that shopping has nothing to do with gender, but more to do with individual personalities? I happen to love shopping for electronics, and purses all with in moments of each other. I have a guy friend who just loves to shop for silk ties and peruse sporting goods stores. We both just like to get in there though, exam, compare prices and quality and leave so we can go and enjoy our new found items. As well, when we shop together we give each other a respectful time limit of hanging out as we each may shop for our own delights- about an hour or so- after that we say, “Hey I am going to go get a coffee and wait for you till you get done.” That way neither of us feels pressured to ‘just hurry up’- we get to sit, relax, and enjoy a Starbucks while waiting on the other shopper.
Perhaps we as women have just thought we were better at shopping and perhaps not all men have reached the zenith of proficiency at abusing their credit cards yet. Lest we forgetwomen used to think they were the only ones who could cook (Emeril Lagasse), design fashion (Tom Ford), and cut/style hair (Jonathan Antin)hmmm maybe we had better take a look again.
Men are taking to the idea of shopping and they are shopping smarter, and more expertly than they ever have before. With the advent of women entering the workforce by large numbers certain imbalances were going to be forced to switch and now men have to learn how to shop and many have very well. Not only are they learning but also, they are actually enjoying the hunt, the comparing, and the discovery of pleasure found in pleasing the recipients of their gifts.
Sure, there are still a few Neanderthals dragging their knuckles along the ground and screaming as the beat their hairy chests- “I hate shopping!” but the face of shopping is changing. Men are savvier, and more apt to become quite proficient at whatever challenges we women lay before them. So be careful ladies, your man may just become the next “Diva Maven” of shopping. Moreover, this is one lady who finds a man who is able to shop, cook, design his wardrobe, use a table saw and watch baseball very appealing indeed.
Katrina and the Seiches
Current Events/Kerry L. Marsala/www.therant.us
September 13, 2005 - It certainly was not long before the blame game over response time to hurricane Katrina began to flow. Not surprising, the allegations given have amounted to nothing but divisive accusations. All created to further the agenda seekers who continually want to divide Americans.
As the over filled bowl, called New Orleans, seiched back and forth many hoped the levees would withstand the sloshing, but alas the waters broke forth and flooding devastated a beautiful area of America. Now, what we have is nothing but toxic waters swirling around- bringing death, stench, and destruction. Our hearts are heavy and we grieve with those who have lost so much.
However, when the levee of the extreme left sprang forth its toxicity of thought most people did not feel drawn to their cacophonous calls, rather most found any mode of transportation to get away from the likes of those who espouse divisive things to segregate our country.
Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Kayne West will not be the only ones to widen their cracks of squirting leaks before they spring into full-fledged idiocy of racism being the proponent behind a lack of immediate response to an historical catastrophe.
When Sean Penn and his leaky boat visited New Orleans he cried, “There are people dying and (the U.S. government is) not putting the boats in the water. I think that's criminal negligence. I don't think anybody ever anticipated the criminal negligence of the Bush administration in this situation." Pearce Bronson spilled his liquid of disdain about our government to the French at the Deauville Film Festival, “This man called President Bush has a lot to answer for. I don't know if this man is really taking care of America. This government has been shameful." Bill Maher and Michael Moore continue their overflow of seepage that it is all due to global warming. Moore goes so far to claim that Bush is to blame for the hurricane because he failed to submit Kyoto to another losing vote. (The Senate disposed of the treaty 1995 to nothing in the 1999 vote.) (www.newsmax.com)
Maybe Eliza Doolittle was right, “Hurricanes hardly happen”
Mr. Penn, we appreciate your donation but why do some of you find it necessary to speak when you should just remain silent and write a check? This is not the time for finger pointing and political bashing, it is time to refrain from spewing your opinions, and help the survivors survive.
In the ensuing days ahead, there will be more attention seeking gurgles of sewage flowing imbecilic rhetoric towards President Bush, the war on terror, global warming and in general, anything else that can be blamed. The catastrophe of the floodwaters and the questions of actions taken have nothing to do with skin color, global warming, or economics. Nevertheless, it always seems to make certain people feel better to accuse others of not caring about the poor, or of being racist, or of neglecting our environment.
Could this horrid atrocity have been prevented? Would a modern levee system have stopped the flooding? The levee broke within a spot on a canal that had received more attention and shoring up than many other spots in the region. According to Shea Penland, director of the Pontchartain Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of New Orleans, that break was particularly surprising given that it was “along a section that was just upgraded. It did not have an earthen levee," Dr. Penland said. "It had a vertical concrete wall several feel thick." (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/01/national/nationalspecial/01levee.html)
Was it just a matter of time before the coastal wetlands succumbed to what naturally has been taking place for decades? Since the 1930s, when levee building was launched sincerely, Louisiana has lost a million acres of its coastal wetlands. As well, Louisiana faces the loss of another 640,000 additional acres -- an area the size of Rhode Island -- by 2050. A recent study based on satellite measurement released in May established that the wetlands area to be sinking at a half-inch to two-inches a year as of 1995. (http://www.techcentralstation.com/090205F.html)
If certain far-left radicals would plug their gushing valves for a few minutes and put time into studying the facts they would find a different story. According to Lt. Gen Carl Strock, the level of funding wouldn’t have really made any difference in this case. Whether the following project of upgrading the levees to withstand a level 3 hurricane (Katrina was a 4 plus) had been fully completed, in his opinion based on the intensity of the storm the, “flooding of the business district and the French Quarter would have still taken place." (http://www.techcentralstation.com/090205F.html)
What we need to question is not who is to blame for the great loss of life, culture, and beauty- what this event demands is- if we are going to reside upon coastal wetlands that are sinking, we need to take certain measures to prevent future catastrophic events. We need solutions, not finger pointing, not more red tape, not more bureaucracy, and not more divisive political pontificating. We must place into action safety measures to keep future generations safe. Later, after we care for the displaced citizens, if Congress desires to still investigate who did or did not do what quickly enough- then deal with it. Meanwhile stop sowing racial discord amongst our nation.
Katrina was a hurricane, a powerful monster of nature. No one sent Katrina towards Mississippi and Louisiana that day and no one influenced the development of a storm to become a category four plus. The future investigations need to look at certain levels of government and the layers of complex economics and infrastructure; this is what must be examined. Then the American public needs to be educated as to how our response systems work and who is to be on the ground first in an emergency.
Will we understand eventually that certain local plans were lacking in their execution? Yes, we will. Local governments are first responders and as witnessed on national television, New Orleans and her citizens had and are suffering greatly due to the lack of proper implementation of emergency responses by local and state offices.
We will learn from this and we may come to understand why the last sixty years of political party rule and its influences over the south have contributed to a majority of complex problems from infrastructure lacking, to inexcusable economic poverty.
In fact, maybe that is where Congress needs to begin their investigation
It‘s Time for the Democrats to Serve the Divorce Papers
By: K Marsala
By now, the name Cindy Sheehan has become synonymous with far leftist notables such as Michael Moore, Maxine Waters, John Conyers, Howard Dean, and organizations like MoveOn.org, Code Pink, Crawford Peace House, and Air America .
Cindy Sheehan, an American mom who tragically lost her son a year ago. Cindy an American mom, who after meeting with President Bush last year remarked, "I now know he's sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis. I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith." Cindy, an American mom living in the land that promises us the right to change our minds and to speak our minds. Cindy, an American mom who was used by the worst of those who defile the name Democrat.
In our country, the two main political entities have been the Republicans and the Democrats. Over the course of political history, there have been some rotten people in both political bodies. There have been those who have spied, coerced, committed perjury, and resigned from their positions on high. There have been those who have held office that have brought great shame upon our political system and reflected a depraved disregard for themselves, their cabinet, and their country.
However, in the case of Cindy Sheehan, those who have used this unstable bereaved woman they have taken the prize for being the oozing pervasive scum of our political history.
Anyone who has followed the news over Cindy Sheehan’s loss of her son (an adult who decided to join the military in 2000 and then re-enlist for a second tour. Tragically, he was killed while volunteering for a rescue mention outside Sadr City ) felt the pain of this parent, just as we have for other parents who have lost their loved ones. Those who believe in freedom admire, appreciate, and have a deep respect for all of those who continually make the ultimate sacrifice for all.
Most Americans do not have a problem with those who are anti-war, nor for those who question our involvement in the war on terror. The majority of American’s and our President are not “pro-war” they despise war, but due to the evidences given, they see no other alternatives if we are to survive as a nation and gain a foothold in our future against terrorism. Ask yourselves, when has any president of the United States ever gleefully spoken a word that they cannot wait to send our men and women over and have them murdered by terrorists? It mourns this country greatly when our service people or innocent bystanders are murdered by those who hate the ideals of freedom. This is why Americans understood the pain Cindy Sheehan experienced when she first learned her son had given himself for our freedoms.
For the haters of America who cannot seem to recall history and why we have reached the point that we can no longer ignore the terrorists abroad, let us recall history for a moment:
· 1968 Bobby Kennedy was shot and killed by a Muslim male extremist between the ages of 17 and 40.
· In 1972 at the Munich Olympics, athletes were kidnapped and massacred by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· In 1979, the US embassy in Iran was taken over by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· During the 1980's a number of Americans were kidnapped in Lebanon by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· In 1983, the US Marine barracks in Beirut was blown up by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· In 1985 the cruise ship Achilles Lauro was hijacked and a 70-year-old American passenger was murdered and thrown overboard in his wheelchair by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· In 1985 TWA flight 847 was hijacked at Athens , and a US Navy diver trying to rescue passengers was murdered by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· In 1988, Pan Am Flight 103 was bombed by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· In 1993 the World Trade Center was bombed the first time by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· In 1998, the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· On 9/11/01, four airliners were hijacked; two were used as missiles to take out the World Trade Centers and, of the remaining two, one crashed into the US Pentagon and the other was diverted and crashed by the passengers. Thousands of people were killed by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· In 2002 the United States fought a war in Afghanistan against Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
· In 2002 reporter Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and murdered by Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.
We have been at war long before most of us ever wanted to admit it or deal with it.
Cindy Sheehan in her bereavement fell victim to those who are not worthy of their political party- yes, there are those who do not deserve the privileges so many have fought and died for. Their continual irrational bombardment of abuse has left stains of excrement upon what those who have fought and died for so bravely. They have shown their black-hearted disdain for our freedoms through their hate America first in their films, books, articles, speeches and their contemptuous use of a woman overwrought by her loss. Those who used Sheehan to promote their agenda of anti-American rhetoric should be ostracized and asked to make their political home elsewhere. Their abuse of Sheehan is loathsome. This bereaving mother-needed kindness, comfort, and counseling, not what the derelict giddy orc feasting far leftist did to her soul. Their hatred for America and for what we stand for as a nation- has turned these despisers of America into such vile creatures of putrescence that they have become an embarrassment to the rest of the Democratic Party. How disgusting these “Hate America First” individuals and groups have become, to use a distraught mother who has lost her son.
This minority of indecent human beings have pushed their hating agenda against America too far. There is a point when the line is crossed. There is a point that comes to every group of people, to every establishment; to every party when there must be a cut off from those who are bringing their evil ilk of disturbing revulsion upon the good name of its association. Does the Democratic Party really want the majority of Americans or the world to gaze upon them as being these despicable monsters of repugnance?
The majority of those who sit under the name Democrat are hard-working, family raising, parent loving, patriotic citizens who love this land of ours. They may be soft in comparison to those in the Republican Party on topics such as healthcare and fiscal spending, but they are not those who use bereaved women to do their dirty deeds of turning a nation against its military. Those who have used Cindy Sheehan are contemptible creatures and they have brought reproach upon the Democratic Party.
Perhaps there has never been a time in American history when a party in order to survive, as a legitimate alternative in politics, needed to literally detach itself unequivocally from an ideal of such poison as this. The Democratic Party, if it is to survive, needs to amputate the gangrene that has attached itself to its patriotic name. It is time for the Democratic Party to serve her divorce papers.
Sewer Art Becomes 'The Art of Law'
Written by K.L. Marsala
Friday, August 05, 2005
Truthfully, art (and what some refer to as art) lies within the eye of the beholder. From time to time, we all have scratched our heads at what is termed art, whether it has been a lump of clay, a twist of metal, a bottle full of urine with a cross-placed inside, or an artist’s rendition of how he despises our country. All have been considered art by someone’s tastes and all people are guaranteed their rights to express their points of view by the United States Constitution.
Constitutionally speaking, we are all allowed to depict our own views. We are free to use an artist’s palette, the stroke of a pen, or the notes of a song, but are we as taxpayers required to support the display of all forms of art?
Recently in the state of California, an exhibit of “art” constructed by lawyers was presented to the public. Being very reluctant to give this any more credibility than it deserves, I am finding that there is a need to speak out against those who batter the freedoms we all so richly enjoy.
No one would deny lawyer Stephen S. Pearcy’s work of “art” called T’anks to Mr. Bush the constitutional rights to espouse disdain for the Bush Administration, the Republican Party, cops, the “fanatical patriotism” felt by Americans post 9/11, SUVs, the conservative monopoly of the media, and the list goes on. But why, when we are in fanatical upheaval over the displaying of the Ten Commandments at our local court houses, did California Attorney General Bill Lockyer (an official sponsor of the display of anti-American, anti-military, and anti-Semitic “art,”) give his blessing, as indicated in a press release issued on July 12, 2005 by the California Arts Council? The display was set up within a taxpayer-funded entity; do the taxpayers have any say as to how they want public funded units decorated?
The news release quoted Lockyer stating: “It is an honor to co-host this powerful exhibit and display the talent of our legal community. Creative expression stimulates freedom of thought and appreciation for diversity, and opens new windows onto the world in which we live. The collected works of these fine artists--and lawyers--achieve these worthwhile objectives with style and beauty.”
Art with “style and beauty”? Now that is subjective.
Since California taxpayers are being coerced into sponsoring this art, we must ask ourselves if an artist had depicted the Gay Pride Flag being flushed down the toilet, or a banner depicting African American Pride being sucked down, would that have been called “worthwhile objectives with style and beauty?” Somehow, I doubt it. The call and outrage of racially antagonistic artwork would be denounced, as it should be. So why then is it okay to denigrate our country, the military, and the Jewish people?
Throughout the ages, the medium of art has been used to protest, praise, raise questions, and move us to feel. That is what art is all about. But in our outward display of dissatisfaction with our homeland, or in our differing opinions over religious viewpoints, or our disdain for a certain sect of people, should it be sustained without consent of the taxpayer and funded at the taxpayer’s expense?
Unequivocally, the answer is a resounding NO! The laws written by our forefathers would validate and justify the premise that the American taxpayers should not be coerced into funding something they have not given voice to.
Mr. Pearcy can paint as many canvases and he desires with disdain for his country, his military, his police force, his environment, and his disregard for those who appreciate this country and show daily our patriotism for her. He is free to display them at any privately owned land or privately funded function. California Attorney General Lockyer can ogle and espouse his insight of appreciation for what he terms artwork that is “worthwhile” and filled with “objective style and beauty” until he has ecstatically filled his senses. But he cannot take the taxpayers' hard earned monies and oblige them into the support of a taxpayer-funded structure.
It is time, Americans, that we speak up for our rights. This country is supposed to have representative government: a government for the people by the people. It is time that we stand up and say no more to the hypocrisy and double speak. If we in this country founded by our forefathers on biblical principles, cannot even display one of the greatest works of arts (the Ten Commandments) inside or within the surrounding grounds of publicly funded institutions, then this is hypocrisy.
Enough of the “Sewer Art”! Keep your waste of what you call “art” off our tax-funded establishments! Just like most artists do, find other venues that will carry your criticisms of disgust or accolades of praise for the things you either loathe or adore.
The American taxpayers are done with supporting what we do not agree with, and we are stating unequivocally that we have our rights too. California’s public display of “The Art of Law” has rallied those who say. "No more treading upon our constitutional rights. There is an art of law, and it is time we started following it."

Enforce Our Laws

Illegal immigration continues to exacerbate itself in Arizona and all across our US borders. Only seven months into 2005 and in the state of Arizona , there have been over 700 illegal aliens picked up by Border Patrol and 170 deaths due to the extreme conditions across the barren wasteland that lies between Arizona and the land of the illegal aliens.
The latest numbers show an alarming economic impact, and criminal force within the state of Arizona and our nation. Look at the facts: crime rising, homicides up, loss of American jobs, tax evasion (illegal aliens who are employed are paid under the table), destruction of our Healthcare System, over 1 billion dollars to educate children of illegal aliens and we wonder why we have been hit economically so hard. In addition to the financial cost, our continued open door policy has been allowing more terrorists to infiltrate our country.
Arizona state legislators are attempting to implement a plan to stop the traffic flow, but they feel they have been finding nothing but roadblocks set up by Governor Napolitano. Napolitano professes to be diligently working to stop the illegal aliens from crossing our borders, but there are certain legislators who are questioning her record of accomplishments. State Representative Pearce and Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas view the governor’s vetoing bills to halt illegal alien crossings and the closed-door summit held recently in Flagstaff, Arizona (that she did not attend) to be showing an indifference to solving this imperative security issue.
According to State Representative Russell Pearce, the following are bills Arizona ’s Governor has vetoed:
SB1306 (Pearce) Authorizes peace officers to investigation, apprehend, detain or remove aliens in the enforcement of United States immigration laws. Already authorized under federal law and April 1st a landmark decision by the U.S. Supreme Court razed any concerns on this issue and made it clear that law enforcement can enforce immigration laws. Any decision by local law enforcement not to enforce these laws is simply political on the part of local politicians, Police Chiefs, and Sheriffs.
SB1118 (Pearce) Voter registration; provisional ballot; address, implements the voting-related provisions of Prop. 200
SB1167 (Pearce) Establishes English as the official language of Arizona and requires that official actions be conducted in English and requires the State to do all it can to enhance and promote English as the Official Language.
SB1402 (Pearce) Part of the initially vetoed budget bills (was a separate bill was decided to put it in the budget) that appropriates ,700 from the HURG fund to establish procedures to determine whether or not the information and documents provided by a person applying for a driver license are fraudulent. As a result of a federal sting we found hundreds of documents being submitted to MVD were accepted and licenses were issued and Homeland Security issued a warning of severe concern to national security and on this issue and yet our Governor still vetoed the bill.
HB2030 (Pearce/Boone) Requires that recipients of certain state-funded services are present legally in the Unites States. Also requires the agencies that provide these services to report on the number of people who applied to participate in the programs and the number who were not eligible for those programs due to their illegal status.
HB2709 (Jones/Weiers) Requires DOA to contract for a private prison facility to be located in Mexico to house Mexican National prisoners.
SB1186 (Martin) Incorporates into statue Prop. 200 requirement for proof of United States citizenship when registering to vote and stipulates the information submitted as evidence of citizenship does not become public record.
SB1511 (Martin) Prohibits law enforcement of other government agencies, commissions, boards or districts from accepting identification document such as a Matricular Consular care unless they are issued by a political subdivision, Indian Tribe, state or federal authority. Against warnings by the FBI, Homeland Security as unreliable and a serious risk to national security.
Rep. Pearce points out as well that, Governor Napolitano, “has been engaged on fighting us on every issue including Prop. 200 (a citizens' initiative to require proof of citizenship to register to vote, photo ID to vote, and proof of eligibility for non-federally mandated public benefits i.e. welfare) and after it passed overwhelmingly she is still trying to stop its implementation. Remember this Governor stated early on she believes illegal aliens should have driver licenses.”
I n turn, according to the immigration strategies offered by Governor Napolitano, there will be a development of a squad team of 12 Arizona Department of Public Safety Officers who will be trained by 12 U. S. Border Patrol Agents. Their sole purpose will be to focus on enforcing laws particular to the vicious practice of human and drug trafficking. It will also work with local law enforcement agencies to lessen the number of catch and release incidents statewide. Napolitano plans to have the squad run for one year and then evaluate it at the end of the calendar year to decide if it was effective in cracking down on this problem.
In addition, under the Governor’s direction, the Arizona Office of Homeland Security will provide ,00 that will allow the Task Force to expand to include the DPS, the Arizona Department of Transportation Inspector General and the Motor Vehicle Department. Right now only Arizona Liquor License and Control serves on the Fraudulent ID Task Force. Many know that fraudulent identifications are a frequent tool utilized too often to get illegal aliens employment and terrorist commonly uses them so that they move about freely. (http://www.governor.state.az.us/global/press_room_0507.htm)
To solve this danger to our society let us call upon all of the state representatives, Congress and our President to end this destructive time bomb. To begin with, we have laws on the books that must be enforced. Our government has not been following the letter of the law, according to 8 USC Section 1324a: "Any person who knowingly hires/harbors/transports any illegal alien is guilty of a felony punishable by 10 years jail + fine per illegal alien + forfeiture of the vehicle or property used to commit the crime".. We must prosecute all corporations and business that knowingly hire illegal aliens. Without jobs to come to, illegal aliens will begin to find ways to come and work here legally, either with a temporary work permit or by going through the process of becoming a legal citizen. As well, according to 8 USC Section 1324a any person or persons found transporting illegal aliens must pay the penalty. Without transportation, illegal aliens will find it harder to cross our borders and they will not be dropped off in the middle of a desert and left to die.
Solving the illegal alien problem has within it many facets, but enforcing the laws already written would be a step towards progress. Then open discussions, forums, and speedy implementation of new laws will work in correspondence with the existing laws and help solve our crisis.
1441, Exit Strategy and Globalization
K L Marsala
The selling points of acting against the terrorist in Iraq were presented to the world on the premise of Iraq having WMD’s. Along with the blatant evidences held over from the previous history of committing heinous acts against humanity. These proved to be the main selling points to rally the public at large to go to war against terrorism- starting with Afghanistan and then on into Iraq. Whether or not there were WMD’s or Saddam Hussein was directly tied to, 9/11 is not really even the question to ponder anymore. We know that the former administrations believed them to be so, and we began debating long before President George W. Bush appeared, on what we were going to do with this mounting crisis in the Middle East . So to point fingers of whether or not the WMD’s were true or false or Saddam was directly linked is but a moot point. President Clinton believed, President Bush Sr. believed, President Chirac believed, many in Congress and the Senate believed, the current administration believed. On top of this according to Jack Yan, a student of international law and publisher/owner of Lucire Global Fashion Magazine and author of two books (Beyond Branding and Typography and Branding), points out, “in George Shultz's analysis of resolution 1441 the Iraq was totally justified. Tony Blair used a similar argument in Parliament. Every law has a punishment, and invasion was this resolution. If the other members of the Security Council did not expect it, they should never have passed resolution 1441. Not acting makes the Council look impotent, so in effect, the US and the UK saved the possibility of the entire United Nations collapsingI really believe that. Pity Kofi doesn't realize it.”
When one truly studies, what historians and military strategist know about this time in history- clarity becomes so obvious. Cynical as it may sound, as we move forward in time, it would seem the explanation of- why we are doing what we are doing- has been laid open right before us. Globalization has been at the forefront of politics for many years, actually for decades. It seems globalization is an inevitable entity that we really cannot stop. As economies grow, along with technology how do we keep them separate and not have them collide internationally with one another? Technology has made it easier and faster to fulfill international transactions both through trade and financial connections. Global markets are offering greater opportunities for people to tap into. Globalization means we all can have access to capital flows, technology, cheaper imports, and larger export markets. But globalization has its downfalls and one is- not all will necessarily receive the benefits of increased efficiency. All countries must be prepared to embrace the policies needed, especially in the cases of poorer countries; they will need the support of the international community. In order to accomplish this in a timely and orderly manner, there has to be stability.
Overall most people are not global supporters nor are they supporters of a one-world government- most would prefer we stay sovereign, but is that a possibility any longer? It would seem the snowball has been steadily gaining speed and is running down the hill to become globalization. We do not appear to be an autonomous nation any longer. We have been sliding down this hill too long and the speed gained cannot be stopped.
If this is inevitable, wouldn’t we want to be at the top of the snowball? It would appear already that several nations are vying for the position. Who will finish out the outer crust? Will it be the United States along with its allies, will it be a section of socialist Europe and its followers, or will it be the terrorists? If we were moving globally, then would there be anything wrong with cheering for the United States and her allies to be at the helm of directing the paths of democracy? Quite possibly, it could prove to be our own undoing, but again ask yourself how can we stop something that is already in motion. Will we fight for king of the hill or will we be squished under the snow pack? Wouldn’t we all rather have the captain of the ship be a believer in equal rights for all men? On the other hand, would the likes of a dictator who loved to gas those who were his dissenters be more palatable to those who despise the United States and her beliefs in freedom?
These are questions we must ask ourselves and debate them with others. Does anyone have all the answers? We need to ponder what has been taking place globally in the world of politics since the days of FDR. Where have we been heading, what is our agenda, how will we reach our end goal, when will it all occur, and why did we choose this particular direction?
Strategically when you look at the Middle East with an eye of military strategy... geographically, you could not have picked a better spot. Being at the heart of the terrorist fields, Iraq was the place to begin clearing away those who still live under the love for slitting innocent throats, suicide bombings and oppressing people. If we are working towards a global community with its foundational ties to a form of a republic, then we would have to cause those who hate western beliefs to be drawn to their mecca that spawns those who breed that type of abhorrence for freedom.
When people like Wesley Clark imply that our fighting in Iraq has caused more terrorists to become terrorists then what he shows is that he truly doesn’t understand what has been occurring for many years in the Middle East . Our military presence in Iraq did not cause a person to one day wake up and say,” Hey I really hate American ideals, I am going to go to Iraq and become a terrorist.” Wesley and others that tout his beliefs forgot terrorists were terrorist filled with hatred towards anyone that thought outside of their little box long before we came to Iraq . When the influx of terrorists came into Iraq , what it showed was that Iraq was the stronghold, the seedbed, the connection spot for terrorist worldwide. Stability is imperative for our planets survival. Even if globalization is not a part of the political agenda, the world in order to continue its advancement economically, politically and technologically must put a complete halt to all terrorists’ threats and accomplishments.
You want an exit strategy? Until Iraq is stable and able to stand on her own with support from her allies we will not leave. That the president has made clear. Our allies and we are now, and forever permanent fixtures in Iraq and the Middle East region. Otherwise, in the future of globalization all we will have are dictators and terrorist killing men, women and children. If we are to survive- the end to terrorism and our exit strategy is clear we will stay until the job is done, it is essential to our survival as human beings as we move forward into a future that cannot be stopped. Globalization is here, it is what this world has become- like it or not. Bin Laden knows this, he understands this is a stand between what our global future holds.
Whose side will we be on? A line has been drawn in the sand we must choose today. The terrorists who murder and oppress? Or the advancement of freedom, freedom to choose.
President Bush has given us all the exit strategy, “Our strategy can be summed up this way, as the Iraqis stand up we will stand down,” it is time to listen and support our military and our allies military 100%. We need secured freedom as we move into our future- globally all of us working together.

Dear Mr. O’Reilly...What is Journalism?
K L Marsala
What has journalism really become? When did humankind give birth to journalism? (Was Moses actually the first journalist? He is the one giving an eyewitness account to the Exodus and the parting of the Red Sea ). Moreover, what was the original point of journalism? Was it nothing more than pontificating opinions? Good questions, now how about a journalistic opinion wait isn’t that all we have today anyway...just opinion?
One might ask what constitutes good journalism, or better yet how do we define journalism? (Some would define good journalism strictly by punctuation and grammar) Is it Dan Rather? Is it Barbara Walters? Is it Katie Couric? Perhaps, it is nothing more than a cross section of the supermarket tabloid with a pinch of the New York Times, a dash of CNN, a deluge of ego by Mr. O’Reilly, a smattering of the BBC, a whirl of Al Jazera Network and a sprinkle of psychology by Dr. Phil. Ooooo, what a mess we’ve created and thrown up for human consumption, calling it “the news.” How poignant the song was by Don Henley a few years ago Dirty Laundry- “I make my living off the evening news- Just give me something, something I can use- People love it when you lose, they love dirty laundry.” Does it matter to journalist if what they are portraying to the public is a dressed up lie? Do readers really want to be spoon fed something, just anything? This does seem to be the pathetic course readers are being served.
The news media this past year though has had its god-like form of all knowing taken down a notch or two. No longer can the media rule over the masses. What Hitler once proclaimed, “What luck for rulers that men do not think” is being exposed by the masses hungry for truth and willing to spend the time and effort to dig for it. Tabloid glorifications, mindless chatter (known as gossip), sound bites of spin, sensationalizing what is only a small fraction of truth, so we can sell our papers, magazines, websites, and television programs to the ever-gullible public is over. The public has become wise to the system of journalistic news and they are tired of twisted, skewed facts- whether the stories lean to the left or to the right- John and Jane Smith are tired of shoddy, overtly opinionated, sensationalized journalistic junk!
How do we help bring investigative style back into the realm of writing? We must demand it as readers for starters. We need to insist that we want to form our own opinions, and not just follow the intelligentsia crowd. It is dangerous when a society becomes so apathetic that they are willing to let others decide how to think for them. Remember it only takes a generation to forgo their obligation to be involved and tyranny slips itself into the fine threads that bind a country and world together.
Is all lost? Maybe what journalism has become perhaps isn’t so bad; sure, we’ve catered too much to just one side of the pen to paper. There isn’t anything wrong with slanted opinioned writing, there isn’t anything wrong with sound bites, and there isn’t anything wrong with sensationalism- what is wrong though is this is all we get.
The latest fiasco comes from Newsweek and it builds the case that we aren’t presented with responsible news stories, delivered by well-informed investigative style reporting. Unnamed news sources are a dangerous thing to play with in today’s world. Newsweek has retracted their story and apologized for their faux pas, but it has contributed to the escalation of Muslim hatred towards the U.S. The story even caused an uprising that led to more than a dozen people dying and many injuries. With the advent of high speed global communications, where in an instant a story true or untrue, can be read by millions it would seem this would weight the importance of confirming sources to be sound before publishing them.
The journalistic shakers and makers need to state unequivocally to the public when they write or speak that they are either giving their own opinion, someone else’s opinion, being paid to lie or truly reporting the facts they’ve painstakingly investigated and be willing to substantiate their legitimate sources.
Moreover, when was the last time a breath of- “this good news just in-” came wafting across our TV speakers? We need some good news each day. Whether it’s a kind deed performed by a young person, or an accomplishment in Iraq ’s development we need to share good news. News isn’t just about pain, anguish, and others misfortunes- it is information about recent events or happenings. The word itself is a Middle English word meaning tidings, intelligence, and word. This means news can be diverse in topic and not fed to the public in myopic distorted bites.
What is the future of journalism? We are witnessing a point in news making time that has never been explored before. The news industry and journalists are scrambling to be the first source with the big story. Competition is tough, but ideology of what true journalism should be need not take a back seat to sell a paper. With the ability to write and give voice over events we witness unfolding about us comes great responsibility and the public now is demanding that journalist’s take their oath, and their passion seriously. Paying heed and respectfully gracing it with due honor.
The pendulum of true journalism is making its swing back towards the middle. There is room for opinion editorials and biases, but we need to bring back the strength to our words by utilizing the ability to investigate from all angles and report to the public then we can let them decide, the public doesn’t need the “papes” to tell them how to think any longer.
But then again...is that just my opinion?
Let Not Terri's Starvation Be In Vain
USA/Kerry L. Marsala www.therant.us
March 28, 2005 - As an innocent life slips away through methods used by those of Nazi Germany, the spinning heads of the media circus continue to flap their lips over the case of Terri Schiavo...and nothing within this mess makes any sense.
Parents who love their children today in the United States have had all their rights stripped from them by a system gone mad. What has happened, America, to our rights as citizens? What has happened to our freedoms? Where will this case take us, America? Where will we end up? Will we end up lying in limbo between life and death, between mate and parents, between judicial courts and mercy? I shudder to think of what our future holds, now more than ever.
I can’t help feeling numb in my utter disbelief over the fact that a husband - who obviously wishes release from his wife so he can pursue “marriage” to his common law wife - would pursue the murder of someone he promised to love and honor. What happened to in sickness and in health? 'Till death do us part?
Prior to the seven year "anniversary" of Terri’s demise, Mr. Schiavo had been quoted as saying he didn’t know what Terri would have wanted. Now justification for her termination occurs due to sworn testimony given in court at that seven-year mark because Mr. Schiavo stated his wife wouldn’t want to be kept alive on life support. So which is it? Prior to the seven year mark Mr. Schiavo didn’t know what Terri would have wanted but somehow around that seven year period all of the sudden Mr. Schiavo had a revelation in the court room?
Evidently, the surreal freezing of time we are experiencing within America this hour is being felt not only by the citizens of the United States but by the world over. Remember when Lady Liberty used to sing with arms open wide give us your tired, your poor, your hungry, your down trodden? Sadly, the world is witnessing the slow deliberate death of not only an American citizen but the death of American justice, care and safety.
When did we become gods to decide and define the meaning of a “higher quality of life”? This case isn’t just a case of secularism or Christianity nor a question of liberal or conservative. This is a case of an innocent human being, who is at the mercy of the legal system, being entangled in a web of selfishness, injustices and ultimately cruel death. Not only is Terri being starved to death but the American public’s safety has also begun to starve. Beware! Is this the path we really want to go down?
As sides are sharply drawn, does Michael Schiavo realize he has within his power the ability to end this madness? Mr. Schiavo I plead with you just let Terri’s parents take over her complete care and you sir may go on with your life. What do you have to loose, Mr. Schiavo? You’ve got your partner, your children, the quality of life that you desire and you’ve given the Schindler’s a gift their precious daughter whom they love and desire to care for in her state.
Take the questions out of whether Terri is in a persistent vegetative state or not. Where are her rights of equal protection and due process? I am not a lawyer nor a great student of our judicial system, but something just stinks about this whole case. How are we letting an innocent human being lie upon her bed of death and not feel sadness, anger and disbelief? Grasp this please we are letting a runaway judiciary system and a husband deny a human being food and water.
Terri’s kidneys are failing rapidly, her skin is becoming dry and cracked, her tongue is beginning to swell, her eyes are becoming sunken and all the media can report to us is, :according to many doctors dehydration leaves its victims in a state of euphoria.” For all that is good and right, are we as a nation really going to find comfort in this statement that when human’s find themselves without sustenance they feel “euphoria?” I am sorry, truly, I cannot fathom this turning point in our country’s history.
When the United States began its journey into denying protection for those who could not defend themselves several years ago, never did I imagine that one-day this denial would begin to include those who are disabled or not living what one might deem "a life of quality."
What else can be said? What other views can be explored? What else is next for a country that used to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves?
Make out your living wills tonight, America. Pray that when you reach the point of being unable to communicate your own wishes that those who say they love you don’t begin to misinterpret your living will only to push a judicial system, a governmental system, a country, a family, or you and I into the corner that is leaving Terri Schiavo as good as dead.
Terri, I am sure at the time when your chemical imbalance occurred (which has caused this situation to arise) you hadn’t thought of writing a living will, nor had you ever thought that you might be needing your obituary written at 41 years of age.
Terri, I never knew you personally, but without a doubt, part of your memorial needs to include this:
Parents love your children; they are a gift from God. Terri’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Schindler, loved you so much that they have been more than willing for the last fifteen years to care for you on a daily basis. Your parents and family have fought for your life all the way to the Supreme Court. Terri, you must have been a very special girl to all your loved ones. A nation Terri, liberals and conservatives alike, have been writing letters on your behalf to help bring justice and protection your way. There have been people of all races, cultures, economic standards, and beliefs who have prayed for you in their own way. Terri, most of this world never knew you, but you’ve left an impact on the rest of this world that has rallied us all to take a good long look at our need to write laws of protection to save innocent life. Does our Constitution really mean anything in its desires to protect those who cannot protect themselves? This is what we need to ask ourselves Terri.
Terri, Mr. and Mrs. Schindler and family, you’ve moved the masses to action. Terri, you never intended to become such an important figure to the American people, nor to the world, but you’ve left your mark on this planet. Everyone, no matter who they are, no matter their religion, no matter their skin color, no matter where they stand, all deserve the rights of protection under our Constitution. Terri, your life has not been in vain. Shine brightly on Terri, those of us who believe that life is precious will continue to fight for those who cannot defend themselves.
Schindler family, thank you for sharing your daughter with the world, take comfort in knowing that we all grieve with you and understand your pain.
Parents love your children while you have them, life is short and it is precious.
God be with you, Terri. Go in peace and find the comfort and love you deserve.
Remember, a full and glorious life flows through the power of change. Let Terri Schiavo’s life be a catalyst for change.

Marsala

It‘s Time for the Democrats to Serve the Divorce Papers By now, the name Cindy Sheehan has become synonymous with far leftist notables such as Michael Moore, Maxine Waters, John Conyers, Howard Dean, and organizations like MoveOn.org, Code Pink, Crawford Peace House, and Air · In 1998, the Sewer Art Becomes 'The Art of Law'Written by K.L. Marsala
The collected works of these fine artists--and lawyers--achieve these worthwhile objectives with style and beauty.” Art with “style and beauty”?
There is an art of law, and it is time we started following it." To view Pearcy's Art: http://www.moveamericaforward.org/images/uploads/blogimages/Toilet_Flag_LG.JPG Enforce Our Laws http://www.thedavidallenshow.com/youropeds/20050726.marsala.kl/view SB1118 (Pearce) Voter registration; provisional ballot; address, implements the voting-related provisions of Prop. 200 SB1167 (Pearce) Establishes English as the official language of SB1402 (Pearce) Part of the initially vetoed budget bills (was a separate bill was decided to put it in the budget) that appropriates ,700 from the HURG fund to establish procedures to determine whether or not the information and documents provided by a person applying for a driver license are fraudulent. HB2709 (Jones/Weiers) Requires DOA to contract for a private prison facility to be located in SB1186 (Martin) Incorporates into statue Prop. 200 requirement for proof of SB1511 (Martin) Prohibits law enforcement of other government agencies, commissions, boards or districts from accepting identification document such as a Matricular Consular care unless they are issued by a political subdivision, Indian Tribe, state or federal authority. Remember this Governor stated early on she believes illegal aliens should have driver licenses.” To solve this danger to our society let us call upon all of the state representatives, Congress and our President to end this destructive time bomb.
1441, Exit Strategy and Globalization K L The selling points of acting against the terrorist in When one truly studies, what historians and military strategist know about this time in history- clarity becomes so obvious. Will it be the These are questions we must ask ourselves and debate them with others. Does anyone have all the answers? We need to ponder what has been taking place globally in the world of politics since the days of FDR. Where have we been heading, what is our agenda, how will we reach our end goal, when will it all occur, and why did we choose this particular direction? Strategically when you look at the When people like Wesley Clark imply that our fighting in You want an exit strategy? Until Whose side will we be on? PETA Piper Ends Up in a Pickle and Who Are These Animal Rights Organizations?
Quick hide your kittens!
As two workers for the organization called: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) were arrested recently, in North Carolina, for illegally dumping animal carcasses (supposedly a mother cat and her healthy kittens as well) into a store trash bin, my vision of who and what PETA was motivated me to investigate just who this and other animal rights organizations really are.
HSUS appears to be misdirecting, for HSUS is the richest animal-rights organization on earth. HSUS has over million in assets. It produces an abundant flow of cash, more than enough to finance animal shelters in every single state, with money to spare. Yet, HSUS is not affiliated with any local humane societies, nor does it operate a single animal shelter.
Generally, we do not think there is a difference between animal welfare organizations and animal rights organizations but there is. One works for humane treatment of all animals, the other works for the complete annihilation of work and ownership of animals. The HSUS was originally established to work for animal welfare, and it was called, the National Humane Society. In 1954, HSUS split from the American Humane Association (AHA). The founders of the NHS (now called HSUS) desired a faintly more radical group. (The AHA evidently did not oppose either the use of pound animals for biomedical research or sport hunting). Animal welfare groups have been around for years- activists groups such as PETA and others rose radically during the 1980’s.
Ever since this split, HSUS has been profiting from their resemblance in name only with their more legitimate cousin.
The founding history of HSUS has an interesting connection to a religious cornerstone, founded as a “ministry” for animals by Coleman Burke. Burke was then president of the American Bible Society; Cleveland Amory, an author who went on to found the Fund for Animals; and Helen Jones, who had earlier left the AHA. Presbyterian minister John A. Hoyt was president from 1970 to 1996. Paul G. Irwin, a Methodist minister, joined HSUS in 1975 and now serves as President and CEO. Both attended
It was not until 1980, HSUS formally transformed its focus from animal welfare to animal rights. During the national conference in
In Animal Rights and Human Obligations, the published proceedings of this conference, HSUS stated, “there is no rational basis for maintaining a moral distinction between the treatment of humans and other animals.”
In the 1990’s, HSUS completed its animal-rights conversion, altering its personnel in their progression. Establishing and assimilating dozens of staffers from PETA and other animal-rights groups. HSUS even hired a former Animal Liberation Front member and representative, John “J.P.” Goodwin. Goodwin has a lengthy arrest record, which includes a history of promoting arson to accomplish animal liberation. This change brought about what HSUS was desiring, more money, and media attention.
How do the current goals of this misnamed “Humane Society” assist animal shelters? It does not and neither to many of the other activists groups. HSUS even wants to put an end to lifesaving biomedical research: as early as 1988, the group’s mailings demanded that the
Contrary to their cheap painted facade, HSUS does not help local humane societies save dogs and cats. However, it has not any problem pouring in thousands of dollars to change our laws. According to the report by Rich Landers of the Spokane-Review, “HSUS was the financial clout that rammed Initiative 713, the anti-trapping measure, down our throats.” Marching with similar national animal-rights groups, HSUS has learned that pouring vast sums of money into ballot initiative campaigns produces better results than normal public relations and lobbying work. In lock step with other militant organizations, the Fund for Animals and Farm Sanctuary, HSUS scored a big victory in
Many of these activists groups have harassed research organizations such as the March of Dimes, the Pediatric AIDs Foundation and other medical research organizations where would PETA stand if one of the aforementioned research organizations found a cure for all the AIDs victims suffering world-wide? (
This is but a small peek of insight into these activist groups. HSUS and other militant groups will not stop at initiatives aimed at just livestock farmers and trappers. It was in the HSUS annual meeting 1996, that Wayne Pacelle announced that the ballot initiative would be used for all manner of legislation in the future. This would include “companion animal issues and laboratory animal issues.” (Pacelle, has personally been involved in at least 22 such campaigns, 17 of which HSUS scored as conquests. These maneuvers, he says, “pay dividends and serve as a training ground for activists” www.activistcash.com).
Animal activist are working deep within the governmental system, utilizing their large bankrolls of donated dollars to lobby congress. The tremendous currency of power they have within their fortress vaults is used regularly to indoctrinate our youth, through our public educational system. Children who are young, impressionable, and not yet apt to make sound judgments based on all facets of information available are joining the cause of militant activism. According to petakillsanimals.com, One PETA vice president told the Fox News Channel’s audience: “Our campaigns are always geared towards children, and they always will be.” Misinformation and single myopic opinions given to our youth about animal rights only causes an imbalance of perception. We all need education on how we need to treat and raise our animal population with the respect that they deserve- that is called animal welfare, a legitimate need.

If one is not well grounded- events like those who fall into Michael Jackson’s category can push the unstable into doing odd and strange things. We can rewind our video players repeatedly and view the facial changes from approximately that point of time of grandiose success to what the camera caught of a man who looked like torment as he stepped in and out of the courtroom of his trial for molestation charges. In the physical, Michael Jackson of the Jackson Five is gone and if you listen carefully so is his spirit.
Another ugly layer to this trial was, whether you think
Sure you might be thinking, “Poor Michael?” however, there are others just like him out there who need help and our system isn’t very good at helping those who need mental help.
The last layer I would like us to think about is somewhat likened to the help Jackson needs as well, and that is- what parent in their right mind knowingly lets their children go to some strange behaving persons house? Either the judicial system needs to be taking these children away from their inept parents or they need to be sentencing these disillusioned parents to some mental therapy. Why a parent or guardian of a child would let their youngest go and stay unsupervised and a person’s house who they know might not be the most stable thinking person in the world is beyond comprehension. To know full well that suspicions of inappropriate behaviors with minors might have occurred, but you go ahead and let little “Johnny” go and stay the weekend with him you are either a complete idiot or a money seeking leech.
That is ONE BIG ugly layer in this case parents who haven’t any brains or parents who use their children to coerce money from unsuspecting and unstable entertainers. Has good common sense left a majority of parents who are supposed to protect their children or have we a large population of parents who are extortionists?
From any angle you look at this, it was a sideline freak show. The media looked ridiculous vying for the first sneeze, cough, or disguise of the day from Michael in his day-to-day proceeding in and out of the courtroom. The judiciary system didn’t help
Michael Jackson guilty to the degree he was accused of or not- I don’t know. Nevertheless, I do know the layers that have surrounded this man for too long are nothing short of complete ugliness and revulsion. The scalpel of abuse has carved and cut up what was once a boy who had a friend like...“Ben”.

C is For Carrot Not Cookie
K L
Due to the epidemic of overweight, oversized, overlarge, big, chubby, obese, plump, fat and portly children
Bring in C is for Carrots and that’s good enough for me! However, hold the ranch dip because I think it might enlarge my furry hips and expand my blue girth.
Moreover, why we are at remaking Cookie Monster- please let us help Cookie monster stop saying- “Me love cookies” it is- I love cookies. Where are the grammar police? (Oh, I forgot they only love to criticize those that lean to the conservative side and their lousy ability to be grammatically correct).
When did it become the entertainment mecca’s job to go from the genre of education through entertainment- filled with sweet, delicious fun and singing raucously, “C is for cookie and that’s good enough for me,” -to changing the tunes words to, “cookies are a sometime food?”
I would like to understand something, when the entertainment industry is criticized by the conservative side for their over use of violence, drugs and sex references in their shows- the conservatives are told to mind their own business and stop being the morality police, right? However, if opposition is brought up to leave a forever monster of five, who loves his cookies, to be left alone and parents are to be responsible for their children’s development of healthy living we are wrong and evil for stopping them from doing their socialistic jobs of protecting the children. It’s all for the children- you know.
Either way, whether we are talking about controlling the remote control, purchasing music or how many cookies to eat- ultimately it is supposed to be the parent’s job to control these family issues. Nevertheless, doesn’t violence against others seem to be a trifle more expedient to make statements over than the curbing of eating too many cookies? I don’t know maybe cookies are more dangerous than screaming ludicrous sounding words of hatred, encouraging the rape of women and killing cops.
Heck, I want my C, my Cookie Monster and my song- darn it! As kids, we grew up watching
I am not against healthy eating habits and promoting exercise. The fat butts waddling down main street America need less carbs and more exercise- but teaching our children to enjoy themselves and indulge in sweets moderately is a parent’s job- not Cookie Monsters. Cookie Monster’s job for years has been to help kids remember the letter C and Cookie Monster accomplished this feat in a completely unabashed innocent way. Can’t our children enjoy being children? Why does everything have to be so freakin politically correct? What happened to just savoring the moment of complete freedom to enjoy a good ol’-fashioned cookie?
(With an icy cold glass of whole milk ewwww too much fat)
What has happened to our society? Have parents of these over-sized children forgotten how to teach proper eating habits and how to maintain regular exercise? Are we just too busy to instruct our children that constantly eating only high fat foods will increase their waists? We don’t have enough parental involvement with our children so we need to revamp Cookie Monster to parent our children into being healthier specimens.
Now we need a Cookie Monster representative I mean Carrot Monster representative to tell our children that cookies are only a sometimes food. Isn’t Cookie Monster, with those big wiggly eyes, the offering of a truly adorable child who has abandoned all structure to enjoy life’s chocolate chip cookies?
With Cookie Monster, now only being allowed his main staple of dining on cookies to be a “sometimes” event- will the food police in the entertainment industry be after Pillsbury Dough Boy to tone up and cut the cinnamon rolls? On the other hand, will Christopher Robin be forced to take away Winnie the Pooh's honey jars and put him on Atkins?
By the way I am confused if you read some health reports we have statistic reports being released that our children are being so bombarded with being thin that bulimia and anorexia are out of control amongst both boys and girls. If Cookie Monster is going to be the spokes monster and begin the indoctrination process starting at the age of infancy- what will our poor confused children of the future become? Will their disorders be starvation related or obesity related? Either way they’re headed for problems.
I have a solution to all this mess. How about the parents just take back control over their families. Wow, what a concept. Parents need to be parents. Stop letting little jr. be the captain of the ship and you tell him to take his hand out of the cookie jar. Children can’t handle themselves because they haven’t the experiences of life to form opinions and good judgments yet. Yes, society needs to lend its kind and helpful hand, but whether we are talking of eating disorders, too much violence being watched, lack of exercise or whatever it’s the parents job to give the structure needed to their little crumb crunching, curtain climbing, yard apes-(a.k.a children).
Leave the Cookie Monster alone, he epitomizes the innocence and unabashed childlike freedom to love and enjoy all of life’s cookies.
The Day the American Eagle Was Castrated
K L
There should be dignity in our passing Terri Schiavo wasn’t allowed that dignity. She wasn’t even allowed last communion, nor the comforting hands of a mother’s love to caress her cold, limp hand as she passed from this injustice into the arms of the Creator.
Terri has been murdered and others like her are now in grave danger. Its past time to move the masses to change what has become anarchist judiciary terrorism. The age of the “Black Robes” needs to be reigned in and our system must demand the balance of government to come back and regain itself to the status of what our founding fathers set forth under the United States Constitution.
We must put a stop to the castrating of our American Eagle and the abuse of our freedoms that we say we all hold so dear. What are we the people going to do about this now?
America's Generosity- So Why The Hate?
K.L. Marsala
Tragedy has struck the western portion of the United States causing devastating mudslides and flooding. We've watched in horror as lives have been taken, neighborhoods have submerged into permanent burial grounds and towns have become covered in water. The state of California is already stretched to the maximum in their budget, and now millions of dollars are needed to rebuild once again the areas of destruction. The rest of the United States is strapped as they work to pay their monthly bills, donate to their local charities, and write out large donations to help the relief efforts in south east Asia. So, what can we do and who will help us? I must ask, where’s the outpouring of help? When will the UN and others begin to help with our relief efforts? Aren’t the European countries sending monies and forming relief squadrons to help the victims suffering with their losses out west?
Of course, I’m being facetious. Why you ask? Because I’ve had enough of our way of life constantly being bashed. It almost seems at any given time when tragedy strikes America that there are certain people who find great pleasure in our pain. I can understand those who live in oppressed countries and do not understand our freedoms being skeptical as they glance at us. I cannot understand though the indoctrination by those in power teaching their masses to hate what they do not understand, and I really haven’t any tolerance for those who reside in our country and enjoy our country’s system of living- seemingly to find delight in our suffering when things go awry. Those who benefit from America and constantly blast our unique way of running a country need to get a grip. There is a deep well of dark anti American sentiment worldwide and those who align with these far leftist even reside here in America. Just listen to those who walk along the same red line as Michael Moore, Ted Kennedy, and Howard Dean. The hatred of our way of life is completely irrational. You cannot possibly make sense out of the thinking process of those who indulge in the belief systems of secularists and the far leftists. Why would anyone want to continue to move further to the left and become a European socialist system of government? The Europeans don’t even like their own political structure; it’s far too expensive and restrictive. .
Balance was designed by our fore fathers and its magic lies within the framework of our constitution. Come on board- and realign your way of thinking. Don’t be afraid to experience the balance that comes with a democracy in a Republic.
When have those who’ve hated us over the years ever stepped up and befriended the United States in our times of need? Whether we’ve needed help with war efforts, political persuasions, disasters or economic dilemmas a majority of those who despise us will only help us with strings attached. We’ll help you (if you give us so much money) seems to be their favorite string to attach. How often has the demand of- forgive all our debts and we’ll help you- happened?
How many times have those who despise us had their dirty greedy hands stretched out to us for money, time, and help? They want our money, but they want to bind us with stipulations that endanger our military troops. How often have we said, “Okay, we’ll do it your way” and given to those who hate us? Far too many times. Have the citizens of the Unites States grown tired of black eyes and bloody noses given without thought by those who love our money but despise us as a nation? Is it time for the United States to close her large heart of giving to those who need? How much more should our hearts bleed for those who hate us? How much longer will we continue to tolerate the irrational hatred demonstrated by those who enjoy American benefits before we stop buying their books, movies and supporting their idiotic ideals? Please far leftist and secularist, keep kicking us in the groin, evidently we just can’t get enough of your abuse.
We know anything tragically occurring to the United States, according to many leftist worldwide, is deserved. After all, we Americans are nothing but stingy, self indulgent, power hungry, vicious mad dogs wanting to devour any opposing views outside the field of our constitution. We all know the Republican Party’s main objective is global domination, that’s why we went into Iraq; it’s all about the oil baby at any cost.
Why is it the success of happiness and the ability to be free to choose how one wants to work, live and play be considered evil? Why are those who enjoy all the aforementioned so dissatisfied with what they benefit from every day? Their pockets are lined with the gold we give them, but their hearts are black with the hate of freedom. Does living within a success story called America create irrational jealousy? It must, envy seems to be at the root of all the hate espoused by the leftist worldwide. Why would we want to push each other up and offer equal opportunity to all? Who wants freedom of choice, freedom to live, and the freedom to encourage one another?
We realize the majority of the time America stands by herself. We’ve figured out most of the world and the subversive leftist organizations that are allowed to protest and espouse here in the land of the free really don’t love America and what we stand for. Jealously of who and what we are will always leave us, who love America, on our own to care for our own AND to care for others worldwide.
Our rights come directly from God; our Creator (read our constitution) who has endowed us beyond measure. We only enjoy our lives here in America because of our core beliefs. Americans largely believe in and practice some recognition of a Creator, just as our founding fathers did. Even those who are practicing atheists follow the ethical standards of sharing with others because of our foundational attitude towards our core beliefs. Americans will continue to give to others when they ask and even when they don’t; it is who we are as a people and as a nation.
The hatred of America is seething currently within the terrorist’s ideology, but the long-term enemy of freedom is boiling up worldwide through the secularists and the far left- these factions are the minority and are working to destroy ultimately our way of life. If the far left and secularists over time continue to remove our foundational beliefs from our schools, our courthouses, and our government, will the world soon see America hasn’t anything left to give? Will America become like the rest of the irrational leftist worldwide? Our ability to understand that bad is bad and good is good is quickly being shattered. Many of the professors in our universities indoctrinate the young masses daily to believe the lines of morality are not clearly marked. Parts of our public educational system are being forced to teach our youth to live their lives within a blur. Our youth are being coerced into believing that those who behead innocents are nothing more than misunderstood and frightened insurgents who have a right to hate western civilization. If we continue along this path America will become selfish, jealous, filled with hate, economically poor and full of the rotting putrescence that has flooded a great portion of the world.
Heaven help us if the far leftists and secularists win this war against the existence of a Creator.
Heaven help the world if Captain America becomes like the far leftists and secularists and adopts their irrational ideologies. America will close her generous heart and bank accounts.
Heaven help the victims of natural tragedies or the victims of those being persecuted by tyrannical thugs if America leaves her foundation drawn up by her fore fathers.
Heaven help us all, because all that is good, just and right will be destroyed.
HEEEEYAAAWWW! Dr. Dean Has Become the DNC’s New Head Cheerleader!
K L
Dr. Dean was the only choice the DNC could make and I'll be darned if it wasn't one of the best ones they’ve made in a long time. They’ve hired themselves a bonified bouncy bubbly little cheerleader who knows how to move a crowd to cheer for their team. Lest we forget too, he knows how to raise money...
Too many Republicans are feeling a bit cocky over the choosing of Dr. Dean to head up the DNC, feeling that this is what will topple the Democratic Party. But I think they’d better take a good look at the pom-poms before they decide Dr. Dean doesn’t stand a chance in a skimpy little cheer outfit to be the catalyst which will roll in potential hopefuls to regain control in ’06 and ’08 for the Democrats. Dr. Dean’s abilities lie within building pyramids of dollar bills and the knowledge that people soon become like sheep and once again will believe a cute flip of a cheer skirt (the DNC will continue to spread their lies, hatred and scare tactics). Dr. Dean will be the DNC’s master cheerleader at leading others towards furthering our nation’s moral/ethical splits, and chants of the evils the Republican Party has done to every citizen of the
As a very rich nation, the citizens of the Unites States, forget quickly so many important things. Didn’t anyone notice how quickly those who lived outside NYC and the
It happened sure, but it didn’t really affect me personally.
There are many tragedies that have occurred within the last few years to us as a nation, Columbine and the Oklahoma Bombing just to name a couple. Now, I am not suggesting we dwell upon these horrid atrocities, but we as a nation are too quick in our dismissal of remembering why certain things took place. In other words, we are so abundantly blessed and we are so busy with our jobs, lives, and families that all too swiftly we don’t remember the value of the lessons over such tragedies. Since we are caught up in our own reality, we dismiss our history lessons, even though we desperately need to recall them so they will not be repeated. Why do we quickly delete from our conscience minds and file valuable lessons under- this is no longer a part of me I am fat, content now leave me alone drawer?
This is where Dr. Dean will be his strongest as he picks and chooses his cheerleading mates to begin their full out cheer squad attack across
Sure Dr. Dean is a big liberal, he is so far left that he leans further than the socialist Hillary Clinton, but no matter. Head cheer leader, Dr. Dean, isn’t going to be setting policy, he is just going to be creating frenzied fans for the DNC by lying and scaring the gullible American public into believing that all the Republicans have done for the last four years is make our land less safe, less culturally elite, less French, less willing to work well and play with others.
The Republicans who think the DNC just made a fatal mistake, you’d better think again. The Democrats may have several old drunken dinosaurs still roaming through their piles of manure fields, but they’ve definitely given birth to a new generation of savvy-cheerleaders. We better be waking up and thinking about our strategy to keep the truth in front of the American citizens or we shall see another Clinton (who is an incredible politician in her own right) running our government into a new socialist country. Either that or pray that the American people have really learned their lessons from our past and will not buy into the cheerleaders ability to scream HHEEYYAAAWWWW!
Oh yes, the DNC made a great choice in Dr. Dean. He would have made a lousy president, but when it comes to rallying support for the Democrat Party, they couldn’t have picked a better head cheerleader than Dr. HHEEEYYAAAWWW! Dean.
* When I originally wrote this piece, I purposefully said the Twin Towers were first hit in '89 to make a point...and it did. All the nasty liberal ranters called me the usual four letter words over the article, but not one noticed the date for the first terrorist attack was incorrect. It was a Conservative lady who after sharing her thoughts in an intelligent rational manner- pointed out that the first strike was '93 not '89. Just proves my point- obviously the liberals who like to rant just care about being pompous- they don't give a rats behind about the tragedies that have befallen us. Truly a reflection of their hollow rantings has been shown.- K L Marsala
Women of Iraq- Begin Your Shoe Smacking!
K L Marsala
T'was the night before the election in the land of Iraq, but all through the eastern seaboard bars Democratic senator Edward Kennedy could be heard roaring, “President Bush your Iraq policies are ‘a catastrophic failure.’" Over a scotch on the rocks, Kennedy demanded that the American troops immediately begin to withdraw. Kennedy then turned his head like a jerk, belched and declared, "We have no choice, but to make the best we can of the disaster we’ve created in Iraq." Thusly certain Democrats began to distance themselves from the swollen red-faced man when all of the sudden he fell from his barstool and made such a clatter. Then lying sprawled out on the floor he laid a finger inside of his nose and declared that the retreat of American forces should be completed "as early as possible in 2006." Lastly as the bloated old senator arose from his prostrate position and staggered towards the bar room door he suggested that, in Iraq, American troops are a bigger problem than terrorists.
Once upon on a time there was a man named John Kerry, who wore a red cape with a hood, and served in Vietnam. He spent Christmas in Cambodia and voted for the 87 billion before he voted against it. With well thought out speeches and quotes, Kerry and his wife named Theresa, spoke to the hearts and souls of Americans as they tried to win back the White House from the big bad wolf..I mean the Republicans. Kerry and his good-looking southern haired boy Edwards took their liberally stuffed picnic baskets to America’s front porches during their campaign and we were fed pseudo pastries called, Bush’s plan in Iraq was just another Vietnam. The last bitter morsel little red Johnnyhood delivered to the gullible grannies in America was Iraqi’s Election Day quote on Meet the Press with Tim Russert. Kerry stated, “no one in the Unites States should try to over hype this election.” I think little Johnny’s liberally filled basket of pseudo pastries has become overgrown with the mold of green envy.
How can an oversaturated senator from Massachusetts demand that we withdraw our troops by a certain date? As the head of terrorism lies within Syria, its body strewn across many parts of the Middle East and the black heart of terror pumping in Iraq, Kennedy demands that the completion of withdraw by American forces must occur as early as possible, by 2006. How senator do we set a deadline? According to your bottled state the deadline for withdraw must come by hook or crook, hell or high water, continuing threats world wide, terrorist roaches blowing up more Twin Towers, Embassies, discotheques, Military barracks, ships, etc...
Why Russert wasted valuable TV time (Sunday January 30th, 2005 Meet the Press) interviewing the loser (former presidential hopeful) John Kerry is incomprehensible. Kerry’s pearls of wisdom dripped forth during the interview and he warned America not to “over hype this election.” Set aside political views for a moment Kerry, set aside your doom and gloom view of the world, and place your ego aside Kerry- Iraqi by enormous numbers got to vote for who they want to run their country. Celebrate with their success at least for a brief moment. A basket of molded pseudo pastries never sits well with anyone.
Some people are just plain ‘ol sore losers.
Without a doubt January 30th's euphoric accomplishments of holding an election in a country that was formerly run by a ruthless dictator, has many days ahead of it filled with terror bombings, suicide attacks and the hard work of bringing together a country with many diverse religious and political views. However, let us appreciate the moment and rejoice with the Iraqi citizens. Ponder for yourselves what the Iraqi people, the United States, the various military sources, and our allies did to help bring democracy to a nation hungry for freedom.
Why are the whined, dinned, and pickled dinosaurs of the democrat party so anti-freedom?
Speaking as a woman who lives in a country where I am free to do as I please, the most momentous part of Iraq’s Election Day for me was the fact that women who have been oppressed, tortured, raped, and murdered have to vote Sunday. Iraqi women actually voted. Do we understand this or even appreciate the depths of what this freedom to elect our own government leaders means to not only men, but women as well? Iraqi women actually chose who they wanted to write in and place it in their country’s ballot box. They didn’t have to stay at home with the kids whilst only the hubby went and voted. They didn’t have to be told who to vote for by their husbands, boyfriends or by a tyrannical leader. Iraqi women, who were oppressed under the Baathist Regime and were treated many times as nothing more than a piece of property, were able to get ink on their finger.
Historically by comparison in Iraq’s earlier decades and studying side by side their bordering countries, Iraqi women have been the most educated on one hand, but at the same time, they’ve been the most oppressed. Independent political activism was never accepted under the rule of Saddam Hussein. This hindrance had prevented any form of women’s organizations to materialize. The abhorrent suppression of Iraqi women had reintroduced the appearance of a severely strict dress code- the Hijab. The Hijab became the only garment seen on women in Iraq from the very young to the very old (let the women choose when they want to cover themselves completely, I think they can handle it). The forced wearing of this widespread veil was not simply an expression of increased cultural codes, but it was an increase of oppression by the Baathist regime. The increased restrictions on women’s movements, clothing and the close monitoring of their behavior have been nothing but an excuse in the belief that there needs to be constant concern over a woman’s honor (which was and is not honorable at all to women). The most atrocious facet of monitoring “woman’s honor” was the rise in honor killings. Iraqi women who were suspected of sexual misconduct were killed by their husbands, brothers, or fathers to save the ‘honor’ of the family. So how many honors killings were performed by an overly suspicious father or a husband who was tired of his wife?
May the Iraqi dress code stay modest, but give honor to the woman who doesn’t deem it unholy not to cover herself in cloth from head to foot.
This is only the beginning in what women now in Iraq will be able to do. I pray the Iraqi women build their women’s organization, but that they don’t follow the pattern of the far left feminist. I pray the Iraqi women find a comfortable dressing style of their own, but that they don’t begin to undress their bodies so that no part is left for discovery by her husband to be. May the women of Iraq pursue what is truly vital in developing a democracy and that is regaining their level of educational status, so that their voting and societal involvement will be filled with knowledge of their process. Encouragement needs to be sent to the Iraqi women to serve their government on many levels and contribute their points of views to build a democracy that fits their religion and cultural standards. May the Iraqi women be honored and respected by their peers, and by the opposite sex. Who knows what great things will be accomplished by the hands of a fellow sister striving for peace, honor, dedication and the anticipation that only comes from a world full of the hope of freedom.
The veil of tyranny is slowly being rent asunder and intelligent, caring, and hard working Iraqi women have begun their journey towards self-discovery. People such as Kennedy and Kerry need to be smacked with the shoes of Iraqi women. Better yet, they need to go back to their corners and think about changing their envious and pious views towards a day filled with jubilation for a people who’ve lived under tyranny. Within the layers of freedom, Election Day in Iraq has meant so much too so many.

'Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than a generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom, and then lost it, have never known it again.' - President Ronald Reagan
